The Moyes Question

Any luck with find that "poor coach" quote, Mr. Damon?

No?

Thought not.

But keep looking pal.

I didn't realise I was looking for that in the first place?

I go to the game. And one thing I do know is your assertions are not correct. Therefore by implication your "poor coach" comment is also suspect.

So no need to look anyway.

Which is usually when we're 10 points behind the pack chasing for Europe.

Exactly.

I wish we started strongly and finished poorly. That way people wouldn't forget these things.

As someone said earlier, we dig ourselves a hole and then look good at the end of a season as we dig ourselves out of it.

Erm... I do. I got slaughtered for it on here.

We've won plenty of time despite some really questionable tactical decisions from Moyes. The result isn't the be all end all.

If we'd have gone on and won 4-1 in the second half, I'd have exactly the same view as I do now but just be breathing a sigh of relief as well.

Id have to disagree there mate and say the result is the most important thing, i enjoy us playing nice football as much as the next guy but its when we score and win games that i really enjoy watching everton.

also if we had won 4-1 i bet you'd have done more than breathed a sigh of relief, at least a little jiggle surely?

To be fair, pretty much everyone had a dodgy first game this season (apart from Bolton). It's unfortunate that our 1st was today and we're now on the back foot. It was less that the tactics were bad and more the players making rudimentary mistakes. Baines & Arteta not linking up, Beckford always trying to be clever when a simple pass would've done the trick, Jags looking shaky, Phil N not delivering etc etc. Depressing result but v excited about Ross Barkley.

That's the thing though - you can win 2-0 but have a shocking performance to go with it, which will usually indicate a two or three game losing streak straight after it because the win was simply luck.

You need rhythm in performance which in turn creates momentum. When we beat City last December, I fumed on here because Moyes sat back instantly once we got the goal and allowed City into it - and got balled for it, yet we were absolutely gash the few games immediately after it.

If we had played well and showed some tactical nous but lost the game unfortunately, I'd be praising the team on here.

Performances create results basically.

Just seen Moyes interview for motd, the journo was hopeless, doesn't push home questions about the issues. Moyes looked well fed up. I'm bored with his long face but woudn't like to lose him. Even I have lightened up since 5pm

Im a Moyes fan, the Man can do no wrong, but im not quite sure what went thru his head today.

Should have started 4-4-2.
Shouldnt have taken off a striker for a DM when your losing.

I blame Kenwrong to be honest, I swear I saw him on the phone telling Moyes to do it.

What a crap day to be an Everton fan.........

Well it wasnt all bad, met Chicomelt and Ghost pre-match.

We walked the "lucky" way to the ground, wont be going that way Ever again.

Jog on Everton, your badly GASH.

i would say Performances should create results, however this doesn't always seem to be the case with us, based purely on performance today, Everton should have won (not because they were anything special, but certainly better than QPR).

I agree that teams shouldn't win based on luck, but if we reverted back to playing like we did in 04/05 and got 4th then id be much happier than if we play like we do now and finish mid table.
