The Moyes Question

Depends how many men we have on the pitch if it happens. Plus there's Gibson and Pienaar if you're looking for excuses.

They're out a goalie, the best DM inderwerld and a few other injuries too TBF. A diabolical ref will obviously be able to influence it, but other than that, I can't see anything reasonable?

Yeah, if they beat us and it's not down to a dodgy ref then it's entirely Moyes underperforming on a big occassion, no excuses, but after last year even his most ardant supporters agree that Moyes bottles it against the RS so it wouldn't really change anything. We don't expect derby wins from Moyes so nobody is going to change their opinion on the job he's doing as a whole based on this game.

We win a trophy this year or qualify for the Cl and nobody will care about the derby. We finish 6th or 7th again and it'll rightly take more importance

Entirely this, sad to say but only a relegation dog fight will trouble the masses.

If I'm honest I've changed my mind about him 100 times since Sporting turned us over. I go from 'he's a bottler' to 'look at what he's working with'(Kenwright). This time he's got the better players, we're fresher, at home and they are as bad as ever. If we don't win then it would confirm he's got to go in my mind.

EFC should never retain a manager with an inferiority complex about them.

True for me the season is more important than the Derby and his overall win/loss is more important.. I'd rather win 2 games and lose the derby that win the derby and lose 2 other games but that's just personal opinion.
If you want excuses.. Injured Gibson, injured Fellaini that's our CM and the reason we have Neville and Osman in the centre. They are on form, we are not. They have a massive squad, we don't. The ref.
Reason's to win.
Our squad, our manager, our club and everything else cos we are Everton!

I'd rather achieve something than win the derby. If those extra three points mean we finish 4th or 1st or win a cup or play in europe or stay up then absoloutly.

If those three points only mean the difference between 8th and 9th then I'd rather win the derby, though.

If we dished them a proper lesson would it change your mind?

The cracking start we had certainly warmed me to him, injuries have obviously struck in but seeing Neville and Osman pretend to do a job at the behest of the manager has made me fume again.

A good few Derby wins would be a good way to prove himself yeah, starting Sunday.

More likely to mean Europe than 9th but I know what your saying. Having said that if it moves us a few places up and the extra couple of mil helps buy a decent player we wouldn't of had else its also good. Its one game, its our biggest game but its not worth writing a whole year off or you may as well just watch two games a season.
