The Moyes Question

The Moyes question is an interesting one.

The man has done a hell of a lot to make Everton better but his weaknesses are blatant and have been there a long time.

- Substitutions are laughable at times
- Team selection is usually too obvious
- The formation is ridiculous. 451 is only used to fit Cahill in I'm sure of it.
- And many more...

Now, there's been people bringing put the 'Moyes Out' banners and I really don't know where I am on that.

As pointed out he has his weaknesses. But who could we get who is better? And perhaps more interestingly, who would want to manage us?! The chairmans words this week have not exactly made us look attractive.

Moyes In or Moyes Out?!

I have no idea.

been like it for 3 seasons mate.

you'll have your apologists and excuse makers but the flat out fact cos that he's tactically short

doesn't help with having a **** backroom and not learning from each season

There's no point getting rid of him sadly. We actually can't anyway as it'd cost too much, but if we could, it's still be pointless, as any new manager wouldn't get money to spend and would have the exact same squad, and if I'm honest whilst Moyes is here I don't reckon we'll go down, even if we struggle against the drop.

That said, I'm not a Moyes fan. He'll flop dramatically at a big club. Today just proved it. He's the next "Hodgson at Liverpool" type of manager.

We'd be relegated within 2 years without Moyes IMO. Any player of worth would follow him out of GP. He ain't perfect but I'd rather he was with us than against us for sure

We shouldn't have to get a new manager, really. Moyes should be able to notice his mistakes and learn from them. I think it's more to do with arrogance or stubbornness than it is him being a poor manager, but it doesn't matter in the end. The result is what matters, and Moyes can only produce results against teams we're expected to yield against.

And unfortunately there's 3 times as many teams in the league we're expected to beat.

Catch 22 in my opinion. We need a better tactician but we'll struggle immensely to find a better motivator and shrewd operator in the transfer market. I say keep him on for sure. Maybe he'll learn yet.

Phase 1 - The awful Walter Smith-ness era.

Phase 2 - David Moyes comes in, stablises club very well, sets up a very good team over 9 seasons.

Phase 3 - Everton find a manager who is adept at winning something other than the odd match.

In a perfect world this would be it for me, love Moyes but he's like his teams; lacking a cutting edge in the final 3rd.

Would be wrong to suggest that he needs to get a number two (and three) in that aren't just "yes" men but assistants who have a different view on things?

That's not a knock on Round. But just that they may be too much alike.

Surely that would help.

Which cos why its ****ing annoying that he's got the squad of good footballers...but doesn't know how to use them, and hasn't got the staff to offer better tactics behind the scenes.

He was boss with limited players playing defensive soils football and getting results

now he has better technical footballers and doesnt know what to do
