No matter who we signed this summer, no matter how much we spent, keeping these two players was priority. Cahill has been fantastic since he joined us and I would class Arteta as unreplaceable, unless you have the too much money, too little common sense of West Hams owners.

This (coupled with Yobo's new contract extension last year) is a huge indicator of the progress we are making, too often in the past our best players have been keen to leave.

Note the way Kenwright mentioned doing the deals 'The Everton Way - quietly, effieciently and away from the glare of the spotlight'.

The cynical of you will say it is spin doctoring. I think there is possibly transfers going on behind the scenes. Im sure we will start to see some action next week.

great news, got to be equivelent to signining two £15m + players. like the way we done the business

What about those who thought nothing was going on, in DM we trust(y)

I can twist that to mean he's bumming you. I will refrain.
Back on topic. Will this appease the worry mongers until we sign mega soccer ball player? Hopefully anyway.

Looks like Jagielka will come. Moyes is back from holiday soon (probably Cuba, just to piss me off) and surely has a couple of faces lined up.

My guess: Jagielka, Koumas & Nugent. Just a hunch.

Do you mind, I have some taste:dodgy:

Great news today, as good as hearing we signed (fill in the blank).

A little extra spring in my step this weekend (even though the USA got bitch slapped by the Argies. Albeit it was their top team and our "B" team but still.....)

What this means:

Cahill - probably means he'll be at the club either to the end of his career, or until he can no longer hold down a first team spot when in his thirties. Fantastic - he will be an all-time club legend.

Arteta - likely means we'll get to keep him for a couple of years, and then if / when he wants to move back to Spain, there'll be enough time left on his contract to ensure we cash in big time. I mean I hope he also stays lomg term, but realistically he will probably return to Spain at some point - perhaps after the RS finally realize his mate Xabi Alonso is really, really [Poor language removed].
