Pomp and ceromony for the derby, only to roll over and have our belly’s tickled again.
We lost a game, It happens.
Thats no excuse to abandon our captain whos gave his entier career to this club (and could of left us for much bigger clubs) when he's retiring.
How high and mighty our fan base likes to make out they are but when push came to shove they couldnt wait to walk out on our captain
That doesn't mean he didn't understand why they left? How do you know he wasn't more upset about the match? He didnt look like it.
He looked like he was heartbroken. Club he spent his whole career at and there were maybe 1-2 thousand there to see him off.
There was more people on the concourse getting drunk. Then seeing off our captain for his retirement.
Seamus has like allgood PL players been handsomely rewarded for his time at Everton.
He should have retired gracefully 2-3 seasons ago.
The lack of attendance for the lap of dishonour is entirely at the door of the manager and players for the capitulation at the end of the season.
The Ref/VAR display next sunday under orders from the PL to keep one of the money clubs in the devision.
Its more than just a game we have been awful since the break and the football club is more important than any player.
If the club had anything about them they should of done something before the game for him and got people in their early if they wanted to give him a send off.
Coleman getting a 'good' send off is the least of my and many others worries tbh.
As usual though the club think the fans are 'satisfied' because we never fought relegation but the walk out at the end tells you how everyone is feeling.
Let's see.So something that hasn't happened then?
Given his competitive nature, I imagine he was fuming with himself that his last act was letting the ball run across him in the 6 yard box with an attacker right next to him, instead of doing what he would do 99/100. Boot it anywhere and deal with it.That doesn't mean he didn't understand why they left? How do you know he wasn't more upset about the match?
Tbh i couldn't give two hoots about your worries (football wise obviously).
We we've been battling relegation for the past 4 seasons. This season we've been fighting for Europe and yes its ended in disappointment. Yes the manager has made mistakes in the last few games but we've also been without our best cb the majority of the season and our most creative player the whole of the second half of the season.
But we've been challenging for Europe. Where did this entitlement come from in our fanbase? Like we deserve to be in Europe because were everton. Weve been garbage the last few seasons.
McNeil was our most creative player the last few seasons ffs.
We may not of gotten to where we wanted to be but we've grown as a club over the last season and with a few improvements in the team we can really kick on.
But no, we didn't get Europe so now we have to throw our toys out of the pram and give the middle finger to our captain as he retires.
If the rs did that we'd all be talking about how much of a disgrace it would be. I expected more from our fans
"Most Embarrassing Moment" AwardEnd of season awards is also up there…. Jesus wept….awards?!
I rest my case.So something that hasn't happened then?
