I took my normal everyday waterproof and otherwise normal jeans/shirts/sweaters. Colder than home, but took thermals in case. They all did me just fine.

Hi lads. Finners tells me it's Finland's Independence Day and national holiday today, so here's some Finnish Finland Facts for Finners;

One of the all time great war efforts that. Simo Häyhä killed more than 500 soviet soldiers just by himself with a sniper rifle. More confirmed kills than any other soldier in any other war. He used to swallow snow so that his breath wouldn't give away his position.
They also managed to keep entire platoons of the red army pinned down by a few men on skis, because the soviets would go defensive and turtle up at the first sign of attack.
It's arguably the finn's successes in that war, given how outnumbered and poorly armed they were, which led to Hitler underestimating Stalin and invading the USSR. They were also the only nazi aligned country not to be occupied afterwards, because the allies recognised that they were basically forced into an alliance with Hitler by Stalin and kept their noses pretty clean.
