Well, seeing as its you, I would say he would nationalize somethings that we currently have operating in ways that are vastly wasteful of money but which the Government dare not be seen to nationalize (the railways for instance, but also defence housing and the various PFI schemes) and also look to cut some welfare costs (housing benefit being the biggest) by building more affordable / social housing.

But that means borrowing even more money. It’s a nonsense and you know it. With Corbyn in charge, Labour is going to split, with a new centre left party replacing the existing one. Labour under Corbyn will just go even further left, with one or two unions, and become an irrelevance........

No it doesn't, Pete.

Network Rail has got into nearly £50 billion of debt in less than fifteen years and has built one high speed line that it doesnt own; SNCF is in 47 billion euro of debt and it owns the whole network, including a high speed network that spans almost the entire country. The sale of defence housing has cost, according to the NAO, £4.2 billion over what just keeping it would have cost. The total cost of PFI will be north of £300 billion for assets worth around a sixth of that amount. Student loan debt has just passed £100 billion and there is no indication that anyone at Westminster who isn't Labour has even the slightest idea that it is a problem.

The fact is, Pete, that your lot - Tories, Lib Dems and Blairites - have screwed the country and will have landed our children and their children with a debt burden that is going to probably be impossible to pay off. You are the last person who should be bleating about borrowing even more money.

That’s a very good story. But how do you reverse it without borrowing money.....

Didn’t you predict that Labour would be trounced before last year’s general election?

How did that go for you mate?

Pay less over time, get control of the assets. This should not be a difficult concept to grasp for any decent capitalist.

Indeed I do understand, but do you really believe that he won’t use the borrowed money to just pay his supporters in benefits, really.....I mean he already offered all the students free education......

Scrap Trident & the vanity London centric project that is HS, and then think about what to do with the change...

Pete we used to have free tertiary education and it did not cost £100 billion every ten years.

I know. Introducing fees for education, and doing away with grammar schools, was an act of vandalism perpetrated by all political parties and was quite simply as disgrace. However, also telling everyone that they must go to university, Tony Blair, was ridiculous, with Mickey Mouse subjects and especially as this has contributed to virtually all jobs now requiring a degree and undermining qualifications...

Define: "Mickey Mouse subjects"?
