That's a few bob we've spent - deemed not yet good enough to get into what is/was a pretty poor side.
Barry, Dibling, Alcaraz, Rohl and Aznou were all sanctioned this summer - not to mention the Coleman renewal.
Considering we earned the points to finish 12th in Dyches first/only full season, and Moyes finished 13th in a recovery effort last season - we've got to be doing better than where we are now.
Simply, we can't spend a club record amount in the summer - before factoring in record wages for one player, and go backwards.
Still, it's small margins. A couple of results either side and the table looks loads healthier.
For me, the best chance at altering them margins was balance (full backs!) and pace on the wing. We failed to address both, which is why I was disappointed with the recruitment.
