A bit unfair on David Smallman. He was a youngster who we snapped up. He was coming along nicely and then had a really bad injury. Lost his pace and was never the same exciting forward that we first bought in to.

Bit harsh on Bent for me. Did a job the season we finished 4th, was better value than Beattie who we bought to replace him

He scored 12-17 premier league goals in 5 different seasons. That's not luck.
He was flawed and had a shocking injury which didn't help, but he was surely, at the very least, not a bad player. Personally I thought he was a pretty good player. Great hold up play and a good finisher.

I don't know it's been a long time. I just always thought he was [Poor language removed]. It annoyed me at the time how most thought he was decent. Bit like Fellaini, he was obviously [Poor language removed] but some would have you believe he was one of the best mids in Europe. Laughable. Everton bias though so I'm not even arsed really
