I've had a quick peak into the 'Current Affairs' forum on a few occasions and very quickly decided never to return.
There are lads in the 'Ale House' who genuinely give me a good laugh and seem like the sort of people I would love to have a night on the ale with.
A quick view of some of the postings in 'Current Affairs' showed me how wrong I was about some posters. I find it funny when people lose their heads, or get riled up in the 'ale house'. MOST subjects are fair game in here. Anybody who takes comments in this forum to heart is crazy. However, I wouldn't last two posts in 'Current Affairs' before a permaban. I find politics and 'intended humour' just don't mix.
Staying well away from that forum means that my blood pressure remains relatively normal and that I don't have my 'idea' of what certain posters are like in real life shattered by reality.
kev, they're still the same lads who entertain you in the Ale House. People take politics far too seriously. I got one mate who disowned his own brother because he voted Brexit. Daft.
Throughout my life i've known folk from all corners of life, many of whom i hugely disagree on stuff about, but we'll have common ground on other things and that's what's grand.
i draw the line at hateful types like genuine racists, nazis, nasty criminals, hardcore-religious, professional victims etc but otherwise i'm glad to know folk from all belief systems. makes life interesting. the key is trusting their intentions are sound.
