The crowd was really nasty tonight

i too came out the ground thinking we played well and everyone who watched it on telly told me we were dismal

atmosphere was strong and there was a palpable effort and fight from the players compared to recent game. felt hopeful it would translate to wins over burnley and chelsea

now I’ve come on here and i am depressed
Exactly, agree with every word.

We didn't play well, Man Utd were absolutely terrible and gave up lots possession which we did nothing with. On the ball we lack quality and look aimless, there wasn't any point in that game where I had any confidence we were going to score.

Surely you have to want better than this? How can you watch that and think we played well?
You joined on Sunday, don't think you're a blue.

Did we really deserve something? Blunt, predictable and hesitant (especially with shooting) were my takeaways.
Nope we didn't deserve anything, what some of our fans perceive as us controlling the game in the second half was actually us doing what United prepared for

Let us huff and puff, keep themselves set up to break on matching to our weakest players (mbeumo on Keane while we're in their half for example)

We weren't in control in the second, we were doing what United expected us to do & had a plan to counter it (literally)

We deservedly lost

Probably the first defeat this season i can say we didnt deserve to lose.

We were undone by a fanstastic counter attack.

But we still have the same problem in every game we cant score. With 10 corners you'd think there is a plan in place to score from one of them.
Coupled by no real opportunities created in their box and restricted to long range efforts makes us so predictable.

We were by far the better team in the 2nd half.
On the balance of play we should have at least a point for tonight tho.

How many points do we get for the atmosphere? I’m not sure it was luck that Mbeumo was closest to Keane for their breakaway goal either.
You could see them setting up the counter
Nothing jammy about it
They let us stretch ourselves while accomplishing nothing
That's how you play counter attacking football, not the weird hybrid thing we seem to be at lately

United were poor last night make no mistake, any half decent side would have comfortably beat them, our football is slow, turgid and predictable. Honestly saw the team before the game and for the first time thought about getting the train straight home. Moyes is killing any enjoyment I have of watching Everton, the more games I go the more I feel Moyes is better suited with a small squad. It must be soul destroying watching players playing out of position while you're watching on the bench. We had corners in the second half we improved visibly when David took off the central midfielder playing on the wing, no reflection on Armstrong. Our corners and free kicks were abysmal we just don't look like scoring. How long before these teams Moyes is picking with players playing out of position all over the pitch is questioned ?
