Exactly. A lot is made of 05, but that was peak England against a misfiring Australia, that almost won at Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and where a KP wicket away from winning at The Oval.

Contrast that to the utter dickings we take over there. 5-0, 4-0, 4-0

You push on to 400 regardless and try to bury them.

Great match, brilliant by Cummings, but something else that is entertaining....actually winning.

If it doesn't come off, he should never have tried playing like that against the Aussies.

That ludicrous declaration on day 1 has cost us the match. I'm not arsed it was a 'great game' etc I support England to see us win Test matches and series and this game was needlessly tossed away.

Root was batting so well and Robinson was giving him solid support, there was no need to call them in. We needed to get as many as possible and the Aussies would've been chasing a higher score today and that could've been the difference.

A bit of arrogance from Stokes and McCullum has backfired spectacularly.
