SUNDAY 23RD FEBRUARY 12.30PM KO
WOMENS SUPER LEAGUE
EVERTON WOMEN 2 MAN UTD WOMEN 3

In what was the Inaugural opening of Everton Women's new Walton Park Home in front of a sold out crowd of 1500 people rising to over 2200 for future matches, Everton in 6th place 1 point behind man utd and 2 points off 4th with game in hand, were today up against Man utd women. Everton had only one league win in there last 6 League games that been to the current 4th placed team Reading and that been Evertons last home league game with 4 of those games been defeats, 3 of them v the better teams. while man utd were on there longest run without a win that been 4 games since there return from a 13 year absence in august 2018,this was also there 50 game since the comeback

On to the game on what had been a very wet week of heavy rain and crazy wind at times, even up until a few hours before the game, The sun finally made an appearance and the 1st 10mins were pretty even with no side having anything to deal with, but then in mins the game burst into life with a Great chance for Everton as they almost opened their account at their new home as Inessa Kaagman smartly controls Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah's cross on the turn in the area to completely lose her marker but man utd keeper Mary Earps made a fine smothering save to keep it 0-0, Toone for man utd then had 2 shots in mins one over from a free kick and one just wide of the post,Everton then had a free kick easy for the man utd keeper from Danielle Turner, before on 21mins Man Utd took the lead via Leah Galton who had been out for a month as she produced a couple of stepovers to create a yard of space and blast home into the roof of the net at Sandy MacIver's near post, it got worst on 28mins as Galton made it 2-0 with a driven left-footed finish from inside the area.It nearly became 3-0 on 42mins when Galton broke again on United’s left and won her team a corner. MacIver then saved well from a Hayley Ladd header from that corner. Turner for Everton then had a chance at the far post but Smith made a last ditch tackle with seconds left of the 1st half, a half in which man utd were overall the better team bar the odd break for Everton, Everton would have the win with them the 2nd half

The 2nd half began and on 50mins Boye-Hlorkah turned and shot from 20-yards out but Earps is alert and tips her effort over the ba,r but it was game over on 62mins if it was not before when for the 4th game in a row man utd scored 3 goals in the game when Ella Toone taped in at the back post from a Ross cross,Galton then shot over on 64mins after going through the Everton defence, But Everton did get one back on 68mins and Danielle Turner headed home from a kelly corner that the man utd keeper Earps missed to become the 1st everton player to score at there new home, Everton Sub Hannah Cain almost gets another one back but a good block from man utd prevented that on 73mins, On 78mins Lucy Graham and Hannah Cain go agonisingly close to getting a touch on Boye-Hlorkah's cross. before Everton did get another back on 83mins when a quite remarkable goal was scored spectacularly from Lucy Graham if it was wind assisted or not what a goal for her 3rd goal of the week after the 2 in the cup for the Everton Captain,it was quite some effort from Everton to nearly make this comeback that never looked like happening at all,but it was defeat for Everton again in the league

There is now a 4 week break from league action, when Everton return [22nd march] they are away to who will probably win the league, that been Chelsea Women, while the week earlier Everton women return from this break v the same team Chelsea Women in the FA WOMEN CUP quarter final on the 15th March

poor first half from us but deserved the draw by how well we played in the second. still a much better season this year than last.

Safe to say we can't play against Man Utd this season!
All the best to Gabby George on making a proper recovery.
3 weeks rest now were they can get some of the injured players back including Izzy christiansen and Raso, who are both yet to make there debut, but would have been here for 2 months by the time the next game-the cup game at walton park comes around

Great news :)

Everton Women are to benefit from increased squad investment and a new leadership structure as the Club sets its sights on challenging for major honours.

As part of changes announced today, an injection of increased resources for squad development has been confirmed for Willie Kirk’s WSL side that will be supported by a new Strategic Leadership Team headed by Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale.

The Everton CEO will take on the role as chair of the new leadership team focused on delivering success for Everton Women - mirroring the strategic vision plotted by the Club CEO for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

Director, Sasha Ryazantsev, will also strengthen the Strategic Leadership Team’s capacity by taking on the new role of Managing Director, ensuring Everton Women have senior representation in the Everton boardroom as the Club fully utilises its resources and back-office systems to provide a springboard for the Women’s team.

Completing the new Strategic Leadership Team will be Sarvar Ismailov. Sarvar will move from his role as Global Partnerships Consultant at the Club to become Everton Women’s first Sporting and Commercial Director.

The structure is geared for success in all areas of operation, with the new Strategic Leadership Team and Executive Board providing guidance and support for manager Willie Kirk and General Manager Aaron Little.

As part of the restructure, and in addition to the injection of additional funds for scouting and recruitment, Everton Women will benefit from access to enhanced commercial opportunities, as well as increased marketing and promotion, media and digital coverage and a better connection to the Club’s community programmes - through Everton in the Community.

MY JOURNEY: LUCY GRAHAM
Everton Women's captain discusses her emotional path to elite professional football.

Everton CEO, Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale, said: “This football club has played a significant role in the development of the women’s game. As well as winning a host of domestic silverware and playing in European competitions, Everton has produced a number of women’s players that have gone on to represent their countries with distinction at major tournaments.

“Our ‘One Club’ vision is a clear symbol of togetherness and unity. We have already taken the progressive and significant steps of bringing our men’s and women’s teams closer together in identity and location, with them both using the state-of-the-art facilities at USM Finch Farm. We will now build on the foundations for success - with a clear focus on competing for honours with the elite of women’s football.”

Everton has a significant history in the women’s game – having been one of eight founding members of the Women’s Super League, as well as winning the FA Women’s Premier League, FA Premier League Cup and two FA Women’s Cups since forming as Everton Ladies in 1995.

The new appointments and increased resources for Everton Women is the next phase of the roll-out of the Blues’ ‘One Club’ vision to integrate elite football into a fluid and dynamic business structure - with a shared vision for success.

This development comes just a month after Everton Women moved into a new purpose-built stadium at Walton Hall Park, less than a mile from Goodison Park. That move has allowed Everton to bring elite women’s football to the heart of the city on a regular basis for the first time.

Good news that,in other news i Doubt Everton v chelsea fa cup game will be shown as well were Raso should finally make her debut along with Christiansen, Arsenal v spurs was picked for BBC, so its a hope the FA player show it, i am going the game v Birmingham myself at walton park,so will see how ground looks etc from the inside

This should have no effect on how the prem league and co works if its right, if it does get finished by then, but i almost have a little feeling that this may be used as a test for the mens games etc, the womens league have less games, sometimes have massive gaps between games of say 3 weeks and have a winter break of 3-4 weeks, and the women league usually starts september so all this is a little different to the mens game and also a bit unfair on the womens tier 3-7 that have been cancelled a few days ago

Frankly a waste of time. No one cares anymore. Nobody there to see it, nobody will watch it. Just close the season and pack it in.
