He's definitely not 100%, but that'll happen throughout the course of a 2 week tourney

My gut feeling was that Nadal would have retired had Fritz won the 2nd set. He is now motivated enough to continue, especially since the painkillers kicked in. Abdomen pain is no joke

I am a fan but he sometimes does. I remember him retiring at AO, should be 2010 or 2011 v Murray. Certainly not at finals tho.

Just looked it up. He's retired 9 times in his career. I'm surprised it's that high.

Federer has never retired from a match. That's incredible

Djokovic, by comparison, has the ignominy of having retired at least once from every Grand Slam tourney

Nothing more difficult than trying to get to your first Gland Slam semifinal against one of these three legends.

I would agree, except that Nadal is playing trash here - as bad as I've seen him - and Fritz letting him off the hook.

Agreed Nadal isn't playing great. He's really digging deep though, playing some good defense.

It's Fritz' to lose at this point. He will be dictating most of the play, will depend on whether he can keep it together and close it out
