I can’t remember ever looking forward to a team selection more!
....and Everton has kicked the optimism out of me enough times to not get carried away, but this time there is solid basis for optimism. Carlo Ancelotti.....Hamez Rodriguez......& 2 midfielders we’ve been crying out for, added to Richarlison & our 3 or 4 decent players. And clearly a few more to come.
But what I’m looking forward to almost as much as the new signings is seeing who (if any) of our existing squad are going to flourish?
Will Gomes regain his pre-injury form?
Will this be what Bernard needs to weave the magic he clearly has?
Will Anthony Gordon continue to improve?
Will our leaky defence be fixed by better protection & not (hopefully) spilling possession every 2 minutes?
And what about the duds? Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Walcott, Delph... will any of them step up?
Can’t wait to see.
