Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Mccarthy, Barry, Barkley, Pienaar, Mirallas, Lukaku.

Having Distin at LCB and Pienaar on the left with baines, gives us great balance, having lost pienaar for the Spurs game it was evident Baines isnt the same player.
Baines has had a great season despite Pienaar rarely being available, think it was more that he has just returned from a hamstring injury and that Lennon was lively that kept Leighton quieter than usual.

Still hope that Pienaar is back for Hull though as they do have an almost telepathic understanding of where each other will be.

ladies and gents, here are the games Sylvain Distin has played in this season:

In his 12 games this season the team has conceded 21 goals, keeping 3 clean sheets (all in Europa League)
I know that without injuries Stones and Alcaraz would be starting before him in the league, but Distin's individual performances are warranting someone else being promoted to try perform.
Throw in Browning, Galloway, Besic.
I'm done with the guy. Love him. But I miss clean sheets and a great defence.

Run fast at him, slow down, speed up and run past him. Strikers have got him sussed, Aguero's gonna have a field day on Saturday.

Not going to run him into the ground because for the most part he's been a good servant to the club but his time at this level is quickly running out.

Like I said, I like him.
But the manager name dropped all the defenders he wants to promote this season instead of buying in January- well, you don't promote youngsters when your first-choice defence is available. You do it when injuries hit. Or bad form. And Distin is undeniably in terrible form. Browning, Galloway, Pennington. All mentioned by Martinez. Let's see them- starting vs City. I have a lot more patience for a youngster getting skinned by Aguero than Distin ruining it again.

Bloody Distin, he made our midfielders be awful!at keeping possession and passing it to each other.

Take Distin out of that team and people would have one less scapegoat to blame. Everyone in front of him and to the side of him were awful.

believe it or not i don't mind it when we play horrifically but still win.
And Hull were absolutely NOT scoring tonight if not for Distin (and Howard) using their combined 70 years of experience to gift Hull Tigers a goal.
Yes everyone was bad.
But I'm suggesting that in response, one solution is to replace Distin with a youngster or Besic or even Hibbo in the next game.

Let's not Distin blame totally, Jags pass was awful in the first place, Aluko done him for pace pure and simple.... As for our goalie well that's another matter.... absolute garbage

Replacing Distin would have solved what tonight?? The whole system was awful, we created next to nothing in the second half. Hull were unlucky they never got a second from our sloppy play.

quite simply, him and jagielka can't play together anymore. a couple of good performances in the europa made us hope it was going to be okay, but that was a shoddy performance from the pair.

i honestly can't blame him more than jagielka. jagielka made about 4 or 5 terrible passes which were under no pressure and could have easily led to a goal themselves. if he's not buying in jan, he has to give one of the youngsters a go at centre back now.
