I think they had some panic buying after losing Isak so late which dragged on and on , maybe their first or second choice targets turned them down or they couldn’t agree a deal with the clubs.

Personally i don’t get the chip on the shoulder they have with us, i actually liked watching them in the mid 90s under Keegan but over the years they have developed a big ego.
Eddie Howe demanded full control last summer and appointed his nephew as head of recruitment and the result was a very disjointed window.

Ahh, I didn’t know that, interesting. The big German lad they signed, for his size he has no presence at all, like a gerbil fart would knock him over or something.
That's a classic example though, he isn't really a striker, he is more of a no10/floaty type. They have just looked at his size and thought 'Oh your 6ft 7" so you can play up top' but that's not the case. Woltemades dribbling/ball control is some of the best around if you play him into feet. If you watch him playing for Germany you see how he should be played properly. They did the same with Joelinton and he ended up playing in midfied.

Good point mate. Joelinton has been great for them in recent years

….he’ll most likely look at O’Brien, Garner, Iroegbunam and Armstrong and see how those youngsters have been developed into PL regulars.

The fans who seem paranoid about playing Dibling and Aznou will be the ones complaining about Moyes when we’re beaten. Young professionals know it’s not a given to get game time, they know they have to earn it.

Moyes knows what he’s doing, players earn his trust earn game time, exactly how it should be ;)
I think this season will always have been regarded as a learning curve for Aznou , Barry and Dibling.

We have probably been forced to use them more than the manager would like due to the size of the squad. The fees , even though big by Everton standards, are not big by Premiership standards.
What we don't know is what the characters of these young players is like but the manager will know and that more than anything will determine their future.

Aznou was a "tryout" or gamble. Barry was a semi desperate buy that was never going to make it. Dibling was overpriced. Got fingers burned with this one and should have been around the £20m / £25m price tops to even get somewhere near our money back.

I'd see how much it'd take to get Rayan out of Bournemouth straight away. If he turns out to be as good as he's looked, it might be the only chance to get him. That's if they'd sell him and he'd come in the first place.

I know it would never happen but I’d back Moyes to get more of a tune out of Woltemade than Newcastle are. He’s the exact sort of forward player Moyes would love with how he can knit stuff together outside the area then arrive into the box.
You just need to play him like the Germans do which is more outside of the box in a floaty type late role and let him do his thing. With ball at feet he can be an absolute box of tricks/dribbling yet Newcastle seem to think he is another target man type.
