Summer transfer window.

CB to play at RB? David Moyes likes this.

Though he may also look at Aznou, Dibling and even his (presumed) mate George and decide that we’re not the destination for a young player looking for game time.

….he’ll most likely look at O’Brien, Garner, Iroegbunam and Armstrong and see how those youngsters have been developed into PL regulars.

The fans who seem paranoid about playing Dibling and Aznou will be the ones complaining about Moyes when we’re beaten. Young professionals know it’s not a given to get game time, they know they have to earn it.

Moyes knows what he’s doing, players earn his trust earn game time, exactly how it should be ;)

I’m not a fundamentalist on this either way - and you’re right that some young players have flourished under Moyes.

But it’s also true to say that others haven’t.

Not everyone thinks the same. Players have their own minds and will draw their own conclusions about whether or not Everton is right for them.

….its also a case that some transfers don’t work out, I think it’s perfectly valid to hold Moyes and his recruiters accountable for costly deals like Dibling and Barry. Aznou less so.

What we find is the detractors continually highlighting Dibling and failing to mention the many young players who have flourished. To say young players won’t come here because Dibling doesn’t play is totally wrong. I’m sure it’s not the case just as I’m sure there are examples of expensively purchased youngsters at other clubs who have disappointed.

Garner is 25 and a regular established player before Moyes came in.
OBrien is 25 soon and also an established player just Dyche wouldnt play him for whatever reason.
Iroegbunum is 23 soon , another who isnt considered a young player.
Also players that were already here before he came in.

Can you name one "young proffessional " that he has brought in over the 3 windows that has progressed and playing regularly ?

Well... I think it's fair to say that some young players won't come here because Dibling doesn't play.

Whether or not those players are ones Moyes thinks have the right attitude is obviously a different but related question.

As I say, I'm not losing sleep on it either way. Moyes oversaw the building of a very good side last time he was here, and we're making steady progress under his decision making this time - so I'm happy to let those who know more about this stuff than me do their jobs.

….he’s transformed young players into first team regulars and international in some cases. The last summer transfer window is certainly open to criticism.

I don't think there can be much doubt that Moyes prefers premier league experienced players over youth & that it usually takes some time for him to trust them, hence playing new recruits out of position on the wings.

Everton's starting XI for their 3-0 home win on Saturday had an average age of 29 years and 25 days compared with Chelsea's 24 years and 208 days.

This article from a year ago is rather telling with West Ham & Everton having the joint average oldest starting 11’s:

19=) West Ham United – 28.3
Now that’s what we call a David Moyes squad; Mohammed Kudus is the only West Ham player under the age of 27 to start more than 10 games.

19=) Everton – 28.3
So Moyes must feel at home in more ways than one at Everton, where 39-year-old Ashley Young is joined by first-teamers James Tarkowski, Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure in the ‘old heads’ club.

18) Fulham – 27.8
Last year’s oldest team have actually defied time and got a little younger with the additions of Emile Smith Rowe, Sander Berge and Joachim Andersen and the exit of the ancient Tim Ream.

Look at Newcastle to see what a single Transfer Window can do to you.

Just won a cup
Champions League to offer.

They could be walking into the Summer with nothing to offer next season, Players now wanting out, and a lot less attractive to Incomings.

I think they had some panic buying after losing Isak so late which dragged on and on , maybe their first or second choice targets turned them down or they couldn’t agree a deal with the clubs.

Personally i don’t get the chip on the shoulder they have with us, i actually liked watching them in the mid 90s under Keegan but over the years they have developed a big ego.

More "Senior" players have stepped up than "young" players under Moyes

Harrison Armstrong has massively progressed more under Heckinbottom than Moyes.

Just a simple answer pls mate.

Name 1 "young professional " Moyes has brought to the club that have progressed and playing regularly .

Alcaraz
Aznou
Dibling
Rohl
George
