Summer transfer window.

We should be speaking to agents about centre forwards already.

Jonathan David and others who have shown they can score goals.

"We have invested in Barry and will continue to do so in order to reap the benefits. And Beto is a good lad. We go with what we got."

I think its an open secret we'll bring in 2 new starting full backs and a centre forward.

Makes you wonder though, if we had the inside track to sign the worlds top 3 u21 players in those positions, why would they join and even then, would he start them consistently.

If we get Europe he'll be forced to use the young players, however like Aznou if they perform - they wont get chances over his favourites.

Going to be a very interesting and I suspect a disappointing summer.

I think the disappointment will come sooner. We won't make Europe.

If we dont make europe then its going to be a summer where we either:

A: Sign more highly rated young players who risk losing a season under Moyes.

B: Sign experienced players who know they will start every week for Moyes

C: Move Moyes on and bring in a top young manager who can build a squad with sprinkles of top class youth to develop and take the team to the next level.

Sadly i think options A & B are true.

If Moyes stays there is very little, if any, point in signing young promising players .

Moyes isn't interested in developing talent for the sake of it.

He wants results in the here and now.

He will play a youngster but they have to be exceptional and have team discipline and a good mentality.

Give Moyes what he wants and you will get ( relative ) success in the short term but I don't believe that he's the man to build a team for the long term.

Lewis-Skelly would be the dream signing of the window for me.

Even on a seasons loan with Aznou perhaps as deputy for a year.

Permanently would be a masterclass.

I reckon we'll need a RB as Coleman will retire and Patterson sold.

Mykolenko also hasnt signed and reports in ukraine that 1 year extension was triggered dont seem to be true.
Same as O'Reilly, Lewis-Skelky isn't a left back.

They are both midfield players who their club have used and played well at LB.

No idea if either player sees that as their long term position - I suspect not.

Interesting that the Arse used MLS as an inverted LB last season but this season have preferred a far more physical player who directly supports the wide player.

Lewis-Skelly's most effective games were when he came inside and supplemented midfield.

He's neither a natural FB or great defender. Very good player though.
