Saw this in The Ath and noticed a lot of Big Nose’s signing have options on them.
I find it quite interesting as I don’t recall that ever being much of a thing for us before. Equally it appears the new recruits don’t have the options (or they’re just not showing it)
Wonder what the incentive is for both sides to have these options
An obvious one for the club is it hedges risk but why would a player agree to it, if it’s only in the clubs interest why don’t we always do it……

Grealish will be a test case for me. If we buy him permanent we’re committing to a slower style of football with the left winger cutting inside. It’s also blocking any first team path for George. If Grealish joins and Ndiaye stays then George and Dibling can basically write off next season.

If we move forward without him it would mean there’s a recognition at the club that we need to transition to younger quicker more direct players.
