Everyone here agrees that we need to upgrade on Beto so why are people considering Delap? The only thing he's better at than Beto is dribbling and that's only because Beto can't dribble at all.

Delap can’t dribble either, he can just charge in a straight line relatively powerfully but clumsily.

There’s Too many young footballers like Delap. We’ve got one even worse. Badly advised, chasing the money, not putting the effort in. I’d be swerving Delap for all the same reasons we shouldn’t chasing Barry.

I don't know either of them but I think it's a pretty easy criticism to just say everyone who doesn't turn out to be a fantastic signing must just be a lazy money grabber. Our fans love just putting everything down to effort but the fact is Barry's issues have been much more down to lack of ability than lack of effort.

I could be wrong about Delap (not Barry though) but when I watch him I don’t see a player busting a gut to make an impact. He went for the money and is just mailing it in. Or he is just rubbish. It’s one or the other. Or both.

You can clearly see he is a centre forward who doesn’t want to get his kit dirty, and if you lack ability then the very bare minimum you need to do is give the opposition CB’s a hard time. Defenders put their slippers on when they see him on the touchline.

I think Barry has burnt his bridges with the Arsenal thing to be honest which is a shame. I imagine he'll be moved on in the summer on a loan to buy deal
