Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Just seen 32 Year old Fred, the ex ManUre player, linked for £15m....

I hate this time of the year, some of the players we get linked to, are dreadful Coufal, Antonio, Fred, Mitrovic, Fabianski, Vardy, Stones, Lindelof & Soucek. All 30 and will reduce in output or are finished. Everyone holds up Brighton and Brentford as good examples, they wouldn`t be flooding their squad with mid 30 year olds as back up, we need to take note, these over the hill squad fillers have no resale and only cost us money.

On the positive side... Grealish, Woltemade, Barry, McAtee, Rohl all make me feel like that is the direction we need to go in.... Grealish is the odd one out being 29 but I think he is a good player and would improve us more than any other single player but I don`t think we can afford to get him.

To be fair Brighton and Brentford have had Welbeck, Lalanna, Milner and Ben Mee in recent seasons mate.

Leverkusen expected to make McAtee offer

Latest from Sky Sports News' Amar Mehta and Lyall Thomas:

Bayer Leverkusen are expected to make an offer for Manchester City attacker James McAtee when the transfer window reopens.

An offer could not be made in the first window, which closed on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old is currently captaining the England U21s in Slovakia and any move to Germany cannot progress until after the U21s Euros and Club World Cup.

One source has told us City are demanding in excess of £25m plus add-ons for McAtee but others have indicated he maybe valued much higher.

City sold another attacking academy graduate several years ago in Cole Palmer, who joined Chelsea for £40m.

The player is understood to be keen to join Leverkusen if the clubs can come to an agreement.

Also haven’t we replaced the whole c-suite & reorganised the club hierarchy & totally revamped the recruitment team. 🤣
Who are all probably on gardening leave or holiday until July 1st leaving just dithering Dave at the helm. And, surely, even he will expect a couple of weeks break getting bitten by the black flies up in the Highlands. Can't really visualise him wearing factor 50 and lying on a sun lounger in the Balearics.

You’re either not a full shilling or on the wind up
No we ain’t buying any wide players this summer mate. Going into the season with Just McNeil and Ndiaye
And who’re these journalists Joe Thomas and Chris beesley 😂😂 these clowns thought dyche should take us into BMD

He did ok in the 10 but nothing to write home About, compare his stats to minutes V Alcaraz I’d guess he doesn’t get close. Also he played on the left at Burnley
I have never claimed to be 'a full shilling' - I like both players, as they both have the capability to create chances. I mistakenly thought this site was about opinions but here are some actual numbers for comparison:

Dwight McNeil's performance statistics include 21 goals (all with his left foot), 32 assists, and 226 appearances in the Premier League. He has a goals-per-match ratio of 0.09 and a shooting accuracy percentage of 30%. He also has 329 tackles, 169 interceptions, and 159 clearances.

Elaboration:
  • Goals and Assists: McNeil has scored 21 goals and provided 32 assists in his Premier League career.
  • Appearances: He has played in 226 matches.
  • Shooting: His shooting statistics show a 30% shooting accuracy percentage, with 84 shots on target out of 281 total shots.
  • Tackling and Intercepting: He has made 329 tackles and 169 interceptions.
  • Defensive Stats: McNeil's defensive contributions also include 159 clearances.
  • Overall Stats: These statistics provide a comprehensive overview of his performance as a number 10 in the Premier League.

In his Premier League career, Charly Alcaraz has played 34 matches, scoring 6 goals (including one headed goal and five with his right foot), assisting 5 goals, and accumulating 7 yellow cards. He has made 51 shots, 22 of which were on target, with a shooting accuracy of 43%. He has also won 8 matches and lost 15.

Detailed Stats:
  • Appearances: 34
  • Goals: 6
  • Assists: 5
  • Yellow Cards: 7
  • Wins: 8
  • Losses: 15
  • Shots: 51
  • Shots on Target: 22
  • Shooting Accuracy: 43%
  • Passes: 554
  • Passes per Match: 16.29

You do know our player of the year was Idrissa Gueye

Top scorer in the league was Mo Salah

Chris Wood scored 20 goals last season

Dan Burn won the league cup and got in the England team

We are seeing the effects of sports science now on prologuing players careers at the top level

I know it's a bit rethorical question, but why are you (and many other Everton fans) fuming about made up rumours?
Is it some kind of sado-maso thing?

We`re also seeing a completely different clean living culture and way of living from the vast majority of players too, which combined with sports science is making playing into their mid thirties and longer the norm for a lot of players.

25mil for McAtee, hopefully we go in for him

Leverkusen in europe and a better side, but hopefully the pull of staying in premier league and not needing to move house, and playing for the club his great uncle was a legend for is all enticing enough

plus having Coufal overlapping him, that’s the main draw

Agreed, i don't know the facts but i would probably guess players aren't making debuts at 17-18 (or at least not first team regulars at that age) so less risk of burnout by early 30s.

I think you will be seeing a lot more players last longer then your usual 32-34 now

I dont rate bolasie. I just pointed out his stats. He was having a decent season for us but still wasnt good enough even if he stayed fit.

I look at teams like Bournemouth and see the pace they play at, there ability too win the ball back and counter attack, the speed they press at.

Then i look at our slow af team spring a counter attack and the opposition player walking over and taking the ball off us. The pressing that is embarrassing at how slow it is.

Not only is it not good enough its just really sad to watch and this isnt city im envious of its bloody Bournemouth ffs
Bournemouth finished 8 pts above us but were 16 pts ahead of us before Moyes took over. Careful what you wish for...

Next...hopefully the list is long because we are going to need it

He is still only 20, bit young to be writing off yet. Been linked to Celtic and Newcastle too.
6 premier league goals 22/23 aged 17/18
6 premier league goals 23/24 aged 18/19 did his cruciate
Just back from injury this season missed preseason and first couple of games
I know all that.

Like I say, scored a hat trick and got overhyped.

Those 12 goals in those 2 seasons came in 9 games.

What did he do in the other 37 games he played in those seasons to warrant the fees they want for him?

Bear in mind he has been playing for a team that creates lots of chances and scores lots of goals, he couldn’t get ahead of a 34 year old welbeck.

He then made 21 appearances this season and couldn’t get into a West Ham side that has no real 1st choice striker and he wasn’t getting off the bench when they made 5 subs at 2 nil down.

Are we running a bit slow?

The RS are making signings and Spurs are about overhaul there entire team (again), Man UTD are also splashing the cash...

Should we be concerned?
