I would just be interested to know who makes the decision to offer current players new contracts. Is it Thelwell or Dyche? Does anyone know? Does Dyche just get told"we are skint so you are keeping them" or does he actually have a serious input?

Both if we wanted any of the players who had left i am sure would have put contract in for them

If the intention is just to bring in one more big, experienced CB to provide cover / an alternative for a year or two while Branthwaite is blooded I don't have a massive issue with a guy like this coming in. We're hoping Branthwaite is the guy to partner Tarkowski but shouldn't assume it.

They could well be squad players. We may only sign 3-4 players that fit the criteria that dyche said after that game. We already have players like doucoure, onana, Patterson who either have power, pace or both. This is going to to take serval windows to get this lot sorted.

You'd want to try to have a like for like squad. We should have been looking for a younger version of Coleman rather than giving him a contract with no idea how he'll recover from his knee op. Davies well,he isn't like anyone else.

And that’s the issue. Look at how Brighton run. That’s the dof template. Doesn’t matter the manager, they play the same style etc. if we aren’t trying to emulate that, thelwell is a little pointless
