Was successful based on Ambraovich topping up the coffers via a third party company he owned in "loans". When he left they were losing a million a day in operating costs as that money was frozen.
The club itself couldn't survive without funds from its owner. P&S is supposed to be in place so that club's can maintain themselves without reliance on 1 sole person.
Chelsea's current model only works in there's success on the pitch for additional revenue or that they can sell players every season form huge fees. Which is what I think they'll do based on the age range they're currently buying.
