Who is going to buy him? He is a great player but he is a striker and his best PL season was 15 goals. As Villa has money and can simply refuse to sell him unless our valuation is met he won't be sold unless a team comes up with 80m+. He doesn't have the goals record for an elite team and no other team is going to cough up the 80m+ that would be required. He also appears happy at Villa, his career is progressing, and he can now play in Europe (albeit the lowest ranked European competition) I think it is very easy to see why he is still a Villa player, it is surprising you have no idea.

Yep Villa is perfect for Watkins. Just below the elite level but an excellent prem player. DCL fell into a similar bracket before he became a crock. Now Watkins is miles past him

Yeah, they were both competing for the same place in the England setup. Its horrible when a player gets injured, both financially and footballing-wise.
