With about an hour left to go:

The positives - on the whole we signed good players at reasonable prices (which in a world where prices have gone mad is a real plus). We might finally have an answer at Striker.

The negatives - no matter how you cut it, failing to bring in a center half and a winger is very poor.

Have we gained on those above us? Probably not, have to assume Kean will need some time to adjust. It is a shame to because it feels like there was an opportunity to do so.

Have we lost ground to those equal to or below us? Probably not.

So all in all an okay window bolstered by the fact we did nothing stupid (unless we sign Rojo for 25m) and acquired an exciting, young striker.

Worth wetting the bed? Absolutely not.

Reasonable to feel we should have done more? Absolutely.

Strange really...

Backup keeper to replace Stek
French world cup winning right back
3 midfielders in
Young superstar striker

Yet heads are falling off...

It’s crazy.. once we completed Kean I feel nothing but serenity.. yeah others would be nice but expecting us to complete the job in this window is maybe a bit greedy.

I think the fact that Zaha was linked and bid on has again raised expectations... our starting 11 is undoubtedly better than last season. Issue is our backup is more limited... but even that is debatable. I’m excited that there might be a chance for some golden boys to get a run.

Edit: getting Zaha is/was very exciting about the potential.. but it’s never our last chance.. no matter how more important the coming season always is in the history of the club etc.

It's slightly annoying because I feel like this is the weakest United and Chelsea have been for a long time. Don't know when the transfer ban is up for Chelsea but you can guarantee that the first window out will be a big spending one.

Pretty sure two windows, so this one & January

Frustrating. Very close to a good window there. It's not been half as bad as some are suggesting but at the moment is falling just short. A CB and a winger and we are laughing. Kean will hopefully be a massive upgrade up front. We missed a lot of chances last season so if he is putting them away we will do much better.

Can´t help but feeling very disappointed with this window. Lacking that punchy signing to really make you feel we´re pushing on. Treading water.
