If you factor in depth we need more, but first XI wise we only really need a striker and a Gueye replacement. CB is critically low on depth so that might be a necessity too. But RB and another attacker are really not so critical that it's an issue if no one is signed.

I do think Marco sees the need for more goals however and will be pushing hard for another winger.

I think we would all like players in early but if we get the same sort of quality as the previous summer window in or around the deadline I don’t think we can complain too much.

There are clearly issues surrounding trimming the squad. It’s not feasible to have another big outlay and sign new players on long contracts while Super Kev et al remain at the club.

I’m sure some patience will be rewarded.

You're dropping Bernard?

What is wrong with this forum.

He can start some games.

Amazing how we can't afford to drop any of our boss players, despite scoring only 54 goals and finishing 17 points behind fourth.

Assuming none are sold, the front six starters clearly include Gana, Gomes, Richarlison, Sigurddson, leaving only 2 positions to potentially improve. Striker is the clear #1 position but unless we're signing Aguero, then how do you expect 5/6 of the same players to take us much further?

Sevilla has put Ben Yedder on the market for 50 million euros and in the last few hours Moise Kean (19 years old), from Juventus, has been linked to the Andalusian club and also Barça as part of the operation, according to published the journalist Di Marzio.

The Italian club is closing the chapter of departures and the list of transferable appears the name of the striker, one of the promises of Italian football but without a place in the Vecchia Signora. Juve would be willing to sell it for 25 or 30 million euros and, at the same time, keep a preferential option for the future.

The club , according to these sources, have submitted an offer with the intention of then cede to Sevilla . However, local media in Seville say that this option has been dismissed.

The Ben Yedder clause is 50 'kilos'. Monchi has ensured that Sevilla has not received any offers, although PSG , Manchester United , Everton and Arsenal would be interested in signing him.
Ben Yedder would be a solid signing. If Marco and Marcel really believe DCL is the future the he would make more sense than Kean. Plus it adds variety to our front line.

If we sign someone the level of Malcom or Pepe it will be Bernard who is dropped at least initially. It's a combination of the math of 50 and whatever we pay for the other winger being greater than 0 and 13 being greater than 1. You aren't dropping the guy who got double digits last season and when you invest 50 million in mulitple wingers those are the ones who are starting if it can be made to work. It isn't even really a case of Bernard doing anything wrong necessarily but that will almost certainly be how the situation is viewed.

It's been widely reported that Ben yedder has a £35.8m release clause (€40m). So how are they hopeing to sell him for €50m. Also they've just bought two strikers in dubbur and de jong.

I'd file this under not happening personally.
