Am I the only one who didn’t understand a word of that?
Basically, don't start next season with them two automatically first choice.

Go and sign a kante and a David Silva type and if either the former get into the team ahead of them, they are playing top level football

Because didn't just sign the second coming of Zidane last summer who has potentially lost a full season of his career for no cost.

He may well be amazing but he needs to bed into the league still and adapt. Hopefully he proves to be a brilliant player long run. Personally hope so given the start he had had.

But right now there are better, I have said before gbamin will be like a new signing essentially , even new manager to play for. So sign a midfielder to take us to the next level to replace schniederlin and if gbamin replaces him he will be in some form!

But anyone we sign would need time to bed into the league and adapt????? You’re basically saying we need to sign a new midfielder to essentially replace a brand new midfielder you’ve never seen.

Right

I mean yeah that would be nice, but realistically we’re not going to sign a “Gomes type” midfielder who is better than Gomes (assuming Gomes gets back to his best).

even if we could attract one (which is a pretty big if), for what it would cost us, there are more pressing personnel issues to be addressed (right wing, depth at CM, RB one way or another).

You pay extra for players ready to come straight in. That's what the big club's do, they don't sign potential, they sign players to start day one and be ready.

That's not entirely true though. City have signed players like Sterling, Sane and Jesus. Chelsea have spent years building a stable of youth even if they largely misused it. Spurs bought players like Alli and Eriksen before their peak. There's always room to develop talented players if you want to be the best you can be.

There's also the problem that we aren't a top club and can't try to play by the rules they play by.

Any player you sign from abroad needs time to adapt. Gbamin is of an age where he’s bought for the present and for potential. You’re just chatting dirge.
