Summer 2018 Transfer Window

Time we all smelled the coffee here, yet again we’ve had a stinker.

We telegraphed we had to sell players to our rivals and potential buyers therefore weakening our position.

They know as the window goes on more desperate we will get and have to accept whatever we can. Then on the flip side miss out on our targets possibly.

Sorry but this isn’t good enough at all from any of them.

Poor Silva

Give it a rest, you could also say as the window gets closer to slamming shut more and more clubs will get desperate and will take our dross.

Not sure anyone thinks we need more CMs, but a better CM certainly, but that need is probably 4th on the list of urgent needs, and looks like we're filling 4 needs max, unless you count offloading wages as a need, which makes it 5 total.
Could do with a proper ball player in there tbf but as you say probably not as urgent as other positions now

Pickford had a decent season for us last season, he made mistakes and still looked dodgy at times commanding his area, he was boss at the world cup, and all of a sudden he's the best out there etc, etc. Now I'm not saying he hasn't impressed me at times because he has, but we [Poor language removed] the RS off for heralding a player as the next best thing, so lets just see how he gets on.
Talk about overreacting from some. He's okay and can get better but talk of 60 million pound moves and such are grossly exaggerated

Literally in the last five minutes it's come out about the RS bidding £62m for Allison.

So yeh, the bidding for Pickford wouldn't start at much less, and I doubt we'd be open for selling at much less than £62m.

Bayern, £80m. You don't turn that down.

Valderrama advising Mina to go to Galatasaray instead of "mid table Everton"

“The Premier League is attractive but for me the Champions League is the most prestigious,” Valderrama told El Pulso del Futbol on Radio Caracol (broadcast 1pm, 16 June). “I don’t think Yerry should join a mid-table team like Everton.

“Fatih Terim has a great record developing players, if it were me I would pick Galatasaray.”

I can understand players wanting to play in the Champions League, however I think the standard of football in the premiership far out weighs the standard in the early rounds of the Champions League, unless Galatasaray get to the last 16. Also I would like to think we would offer more money than them?

Valderama, who played for huge clubs like Montpelier, Valladolid, as well as Tampa Bay Mutiny? OK THEN

Yeh Leno is an egotistical keeper. Who they signed to replace him from Frankfurt is absolutely quality though. So is Baumann at Hoffenheim.

I like Baumann, but not like he doesn't have an error in him either - he was abysmal v the RS in their CL qualifier IIRC?

Is the lad from Frankfurt the Finnish bloke? Hradecky or something like that? Yeh, he's played well but I'm sure he's about 28/29?

Also like Schalke's goalkeeper, but again, he isn't exactly young.

I'd say Pickford has the potential to be far better than all of them.

Our best window in recent times was Martinez' first (Lukaku/McCarthy/Barry) and that was dependent on Fellaini being sold. That was all on deadline day and Sky had Lukaku staying at WBA by 9pm.

It's concerning, no doubt, but I still don't believe Brands and Silva have been told the cupboard is THAT bare. Half full maybe, or less than half full but not that we have nothing.

It things were/are that bad, then they have both still come here in full knowledge of it, and are dealing with it, or they have been misled. I know the club have form but would even they choose to willfully be so stupid?

Would be great to have signings here and bedded in well in advance of kick-off but if it takes until August 9th, I'll be happy to live with it.

We can all indulge and go to town in being critical if they are seen to have conducted another royal cock-up, but let's wait till then at least.

His distribution accuracy is actually very poor

Pickford Assist

If you watch that assist you will notice that there was a near identical play in the World Cup by him. I think the problem is we didn't have willing runners due to BFS being our manager. However with better players and a better manager, England showed that he can distribute very well. He was pinging them everywhere at times during matches. Always collected by a teammate.
