But that's the whole point. They did that. And SINCE then, UEFA has made damn sure that clubs CAN'T do that from then on with FFP. That wasn't to 'protect' clubs from spending too much, it was to protect the big clubs from the City's and buying success.

That was always my impression of FFP
It was to protect Real , Barca ,Bayern Juve ,United Etc.
It was only after PSG and City started threatening the status quo that UEFA woke up and started acting.
It means clubs such as us Wolves etc can’t just go spending hundreds of millions to catch up.
I read this week that UEFA are back on PSG’s case over the Neymar and MBappe transfers with possible bans from European football on the agenda , not that that will ever happen

That miljoveic impresses me every week, I would love him here just don't know if it's what we need. Would be a great swap for schneiderlin imo but we do need more energy and I think he may be too much of an anchor.

Man. City and Chelsea before them have done just that.
The wealth behind Wolves is every bit as impressive as those two.
It is fine to disregard their ability to achieve this just as we once laughed at the identical pretensions of Chelsea and City.
We ain't laughing now.
Uh, no it's not. The Man City chair could buy the Wolves chair 4 or 5 times over. Chelsea is also in another stratosphere. Frankly, if Usmanov continues to use us as his proxy, not sure why Wolves could even compete with us. FFP almost ensures it. There's real history or fanbase. Stoke is owned by massive wealth. So what?

Don't kid yourself mate - these guys have serious wealth and have a clear strategy on where they want to be. Barring some utter meltdown behind the scenes, Wolves are seriously on the up and will be knocking on Champions League doors in the not too distant future.

Bloody hell their only a little bit richer then the lesister city owners and worth less then the stoke owners. And able to spend less then both clubs through FPP. Let's see how they get on next season before we start wetting ourselves.

Breaking into the top 4 is hard enough for the likes of Chelsea and arsenal to do at the minute. I'm sure it's safe from wolves finishing in a champions league spot.
