Yeah but that's when we had aspirations of winning a domestic treble and dominating Europe within 12 months.

You do need a bigger squad for EL in fairness but we did go overboard, also added too much dross/averageness and didn't address key areas, striker, leftback, central midfield. What was Walsh doing? Supposedly he was a 'top scout' yet he shopped mainly at crap PL clubs below us and left gaping holes.
