Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

Can’t see Glasner being interested mate, he’s already disillusioned at Palace because of having to sell their best players etc. it wouldn’t be much different with us.
He's got a negative net spend at Palace, that's why, not that he's got to sell his best players. That's a fact of life at pretty much every club apart from Real or Barca. There's no reason why we'd have a negative net spend under TFG. He likes to have a big input into signing players and the set up that Moyes has put in place would suit him down to the ground. He won't have the same say at Man Utd for example. We can offer him that plus increasing his wages four fold. Obviously depends who needs a manager in the summer but I'd say we'd have a fighting chance to get him.

Ironically, the last time we went for a young hungry manager that was a bit of a risk from a different league, it was Moyes himself!

Would we ever do that now - go to the Championship and take a punt on a young promising manager - be amazed if we did and perhaps that is part of the problem we've had with managers.
That ex Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is doing well with Coventry, might be worth a punt?

Anyone we appoint has to have a track record of consistent overachievement in their career. This would be my list: Glasner, Franck Haise, Sebastian Hoeneß, Kjetil Knutsen and Lee Carsley.

And we can now definitively add Xabi Alonso to our wish list , what could possibly go wrong , another Ex RS , would be worth it for the fume from both sets of fans. With acknowledgement to @blue to the bone , who get there first !

If he wasn't who he was he'd actually be perfect IMO. We wouldn't have a chance at landing him regardless, but what he did at Leverkusen is one of the best managerial jobs anywhere in the last 20 years. Really hope he doesn't go to the RS one day but it seems inevitable.

Couldn't care less about him being a dirty ex RS he'd be brilliant here but he'd not entertaining us lets be honest

I wouldn't be averse to Kieran McKenna, tbh. He's done a very good job at Ipswich, imo, and I think their board should be commended for sticking with him after failing the impossible task of staying in the PL.
Good shout Windy, his star has fallen because of getting Ipswich relegated but that doesn't demean him as he's an excellent young coach. Jurgen Klopp had a relegation on his CV and begrudgingly we have to admit he was brilliant for the RS so I'd be very happy with McKenna
