Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

Because he's won a domestic trophy and got his last team to over perform for several seasons?
It only cost him 100s of millions for a domestic trophy and doing what Moyes did. Is that ambition now?

I get it, he's a decent manager for sure, I like him, but how is that taking us forward meaningfully?

That said, we'll probably hire another dinosaur anyway, so compared to this very real possibility, Howe is a fantastic appointment.

His record is no better than Moyes though. He does play 4-3-3 which most people would prefer but his teams do an awful lot of running and tend too suffer a high amount of injuries. Howe is a sideways step imo not a forward one.

You could argue that despite the fact that Moyes has been in management for like 15 years longer, they've both won the same amount of silverware. Howe probably still has a lot of room for improvement whereas Moyes is as good as he'll ever be if not past his best.

I get you, like. Not saying I want him either, but just acknowledging that he is a good coach.

Given how poor and unbalanced our squad is any new manager would need to spend big. He did beat one of the Sky Six to win it,and he's created a team that at least competes with the likes of the RS,City, Chelsea etc. He's probably the least risky of the names that have popped up on this thread.

I sometimes dream of Everton players doing an awful lot of running.
It has to be a balanced workload though otherwise you end up with too many injuries, its similar to what Moyes does preferring to work with a smaller squad then playing the same players all the time, its a recipe for trouble.

I don't really follow Newcastle closely, but this season at least they appear to have pretty much the same names on the team sheet. Looking online last season they had an "injury crisis" but that included Issac, Wilson and Lassalle, and from the others they appear to be contact injuries or hamstring which can as we know happen to any player. I can't in all honesty mention a name I'd be totally happy with taking over, but Howe is a known quantity who other than Burnley had done a decent job wherever he's been.

I just think when it comes to all the British managers, you can go through them and all have an obvious ceiling level and most are 1 formation guys who are not the most tactically flexible either.

Why would a very good manager want to come here as opposed to some where else? - there will be a lot of jobs coming up in the summer and seems like a managers market to me as opposed to clubs.
How many more attractive jobs than Everton are likely to be available in the summer?

Possibly the RS.
Man U but that's a poisoned chalice.
Newcastle perhaps.
Spurs.

I might be wrong but don't see the likes of Iraola , Carsley or Howe being of interest to those clubs.

I think we'd be a very attractive proposition
