Stop Trying to be Edgy

I think some of you need to realise that we’re not a world class team that can’t possibly lose, we’re an in form team that’s probably overachieving slightly due to the state of the league. Losses like yesterday aren’t some inexplicable occurrence, they’re not the players giving up, they’re just going to happen because that’s football.

Also stop with this weird in your own heads rivalry with Moyes. He hasn’t been our manager for getting on for a decade, he’s never coming back, get over him. The club has moved on.

Don’t want to suffer the journey? Yeah ok mate, years of absolute dross mean the first sign of any improvement is seen as some managerial masterclass from Ancelotti, the fact is Arsenal, Chelsea and even Man City are in transition that’s why we have been higher up the league, the football has been largely dross, when it has been more expansive we look defensively inept. Hardly the sign of a world class manager or a team on the cusp. Everton are rubbish, have been for years and I haven’t seen anything to offer any hope.........oh wait Khedira
Yeah football’s not for you if you can see we’ve improved in the past year, after 16 games last season we were sitting 14th, on 17 points, 2 above the drop zone with a -9 goal difference having sacked an utter donkey. This season after 16 games we sit 5th (as Spurs are winning), on 29 points, 4 points off the top with a +6 goal difference

We all have different ways to express our emotions. Wish I didn't feel like I do when we lose, but I do. And as odd to you as it might seem after a win I'm on a high until the next game. Everton are in my blood, and there's no getting away from it.
I'm not criticising you or how you react at all. I admire and respect your passion and what the club means to you. My comments are aimed more at those who are optimists at heart (which is fine), but who berate others for not quite sharing that sunny disposition. The truth is, Everton has done little to encourage people to think more positively that then otherwise might by natural disposition. In other words, I find it hard to be lectured about being too negative after a defeat by wild fantasists, when a few wins has these very same people demanding answers for why Sky TV or the BBC for dismissing us when considering the title contenders.

Passion and pride is wonderful. But it doesn't generally lead to objective or rational analysis of our side's real potential. By the same token, despair from depression.com strikes me as equally nonsensical when we've got Carlo Ancelotti at the club trying to build something very interesting indeed.

12 points from 5 games including Chelsea , Leicester and Arsenal.

29 points from 16 games, 4 points off top spot.

Yes, yesterday’s performance was poor and very frustrating, but the improvement is obvious. Anyone expecting us to finish top 4/challenging for the title need to reign in their expectations considering how dog turd we’ve been in recent years and with our lack of squad depth.

Calm yer tits, Carlo's got this

I did. That's why I'm asking you if it really is as bad as you are making it out to be.

I didn't make anything out to be bad. I was suggesting that if we harbour top 4 ambition we need to improve. Surely you don't disagree based on example I provided ? Seriously hard work in here at times.

Wolves A
Villa A
Leicester H
Nil points, let’s see how you feel about FC failure then

One loss and all the closet kopites and football geniuses are out in force saying we’re a shambles and we’ll never get top 4, and anyone who believed we could do it is deluded and below them in the football knowledge stakes. It’s so painfully predictable and it happens every time there’s a blip.

Twitter is full of them, people trying to say the most depressing things possible to seem the superior bloo.

Bore off and go and support Tranmere.
Pragmatism

These dropped points to teams we could and should beat might come to bite us on the arse when it comes to the final positions. What could have been 4th/5th could be 8th/9th and no European football will stunt what is possible next year and so on.

This is a golden chance to put ourselves in amongst it with other teams dropping points and in a state of flux. There is no excuses when we had more rest to beat a poor side yet we played worse, you don't mind losing to a side playing put of their skins - but they didn't need to be to beat us. The heart and desire should be there to want to go second and clear for all to see.

I've seen enough over the years not to get carried away ( I was at Carlisle) Think social media has a lot to answer for, most of the sites are just data harvesting and sadly people fall for it and start believing the hype. Win four and we'll do another Leicester, lose three on the bounce and it's a relegation battle.

Careful mate. You'll be tried for sedition by stating facts in a well presented logical manner.

The problem is, with the money invested we should see a very different team! The incompetence in the Everton management ( yes i mean Brands and the guys before him) is mind boggling. There isnt any style of play. Everything is put together by chance. So on a good and lucky day it works but mostly and over a whole season it doesnt.

Yes, if we want to finish top 4, then we need to have a lot less performances like yesterday. My point was more how you listed almost every single poor result as if it was a reflection of our typical results, yet glossed over all the positive results as if they almost proved your point wrong. Surely you can see how that can be construed as being negative.

Until 5 minutes ago, we actually were in the top 4. We're maybe not as far off as you and others are implying
