Still a good start?

It's too soon.

You may not believe this but we have the same points we did last year at this point in the season.

We lost 1-0, won 1-0, drew 2-2 and then won 3-1.

Except the difference in the way we played those games and who we played.

Lost to QPR in a game Moyes was determined to lose. Beat Blackburn in thoroughly underserved fashion. We drew with AV in a game we could have won, much like Newcastle. And we beat Wigan 3-1 at home: nothing special about that really!

Some very similar results, but the manner in which Everton have won this year has been far more convincing.

Overall it's a good start. Squad depth was always gonna be a problem and as neville and Osman are showing were in a bit of trouble in CM.

As long as we can pick up some points over the next few games it will be a good start. Some important games coming up including a derby. See where we are after that game to make a proper judgment.

For sure tho... IMO fellaini HAS to move back to CM for the next 2 or 3 games till Gibson is back.

I'm still getting the hang of all the football rules and such.
But as far as I have heard and as far as I could have seen, we're not doing so bad at all.
I mean, aren't we supposed to do horribly in the first half of the season?

Missed the game but reading the MBM it sounds pretty clear that we were the better team and were robbed of a goal. Apparently we are better than them which is good news because NUFC will prob finish top 7. Had one bad game out of 4 against quality teams (and Villa), plus no one has blown a ACL so its a good start. Getting 4th is probably not going to happen with Arsenal starting to heat up but we are a good side.

Squad depth is a problem and bad management by moyes, knowing gibbo was injured and selling rodwell he should have got in at least one central midfielder.

Same start as last season: 7 points from 12. We made a good start last year and then fell away in October/November badly.

There's some winnable games between now and the Derby and we need to be picking up points in them to avoid a similar Autumn slump.

We were superb last night, one of the best team performances in a long time, to blame Neville is daft, he was nothing to do with the goals conceeded, that was an uncharacteristic mixture of our 2 CB's and some very poor goal keeping. Can't blame the result on Neville either, that was the result of some very predictable poor officiating decisions.
We were robbed but we played superbly. Hope Moyes doesn't revert to plan B which would be the old sit back and defend.

Same points tally, but a massive difference in terms of performances to this point.

We stank the place out vs QPR opening day, mugged Blackburn at their place & beat a Wigan side who were dreadful at that point. The 2-2 vs Villa at home was the only decent performance from the opening 4.

This side is far superior & playing much better football.
