Starting XI for the derby

I hope so.... Like you I have got a clue.

This is going to be such a hard game. I think if we were at full strength we could win.

Now I am not sure - very nervous, in fact more so than previous ones except for the cup games. For once we should go in as favourites because of league position etc. Which makes things worse.

I agree, but the best chance in years, huge loss of course losing Pienaar but if Fellaini and Hibbert are available then I think we have a very good chance.
With it being at home and with impetuous with us then we are favourites surely.
I don't believe that this terrible record we have against them will affect us this weekend, we've just go to try and stop rat face and make sure Sterling doesn't get any room or space.

I think we have to take Gibson and Felliani's lack of involvement last night as a clear sign they will be in the stands with Pienaar. Considering our lack of options I don't think it is even debatable that we have to recall Barkley from Sheff Wed (at the very least into the squad if not the team). And please don't give me the he's not ready/he might make a mistake b0llox, Neville and osman have both made mistakes that have cost us badly this season. The questions are simple, is he good enough to do them damage if he gets on? Also is as good/better than the options we have left without Felli/Gib/Pienaar? Its yes to both for me. If he doesn't get recalled and we lose I would consider it to be gross negligence by Moyes (and I am a big Moyes supporter)

Remember that RS play Anzhi -- a tough, rich, well-managed club -- in the Europa league this week on the 25th. That means only three nights rest for those who play. Eto'o will be running at RS defenders and hopefully tiring them out and their backline (Samba, João Carlos, Zhirkov, Agalarov) will hopefully be shutting down the bucktooth Uruguayan if he plays.

That's the good thing. They will either have to play their senior players against them and risk them being tired on sunday or play their youth players and potentially suffer a morale lowering defeat. We can hope...

I think we all know the unholy trinity of Hibbert, Neville and Osman will be starting. Sick if they do, or even two of the three as they are all absolutely ****.

PS it might be a long shot, but how do we know there won't be a behind-closed-doors game for Gibson and Fellaini to get some game time in before Sunday?

From Twitter Luke O'Farrell: Everton's last home league game on 28th October was the Andy King derby in 1978. And that came a week after a 1-1 draw at QPR.

if they lose they're all but out of the europa. they won't beat udinese away and probably won't beat anzhi in the return fixture either. depends if rodgers wants to bow out with a whimper or not

They'll win 1 0 and then beat us 2 1 and everything will be rosy again for them.

You know how it goes.

You know.

If Gibson, Fellaini and Pienaar are all out then we'd be screwed. Our 3 most important players imo. We'll be a lot harder to score against with Hibbert at RB as well.

In my dreams:

Howard

Coleman Jags Distin Baines

Mirallas Gibson Osman Oviedo

Fellani

Jelavic

What we´ll probably see on match day:

Howard

Coleman Jags Distin Baines

Anichebe Osman Neville Mirallas

Naismith

Jelavic

I reckon neither Gibson nor Fellaini will start.

A possible positive from our current situation might be that I doubt rogers has any better idea of how we're gona line up than we do... If they've done any prep so far I'm guessing stopping Baines/Pienaar would have been a main focus - now they don't know if there up against Baines/Oviedo, Mirallas, Osman etc.

None of us have got a clue if Fellaini will make it, but I'm guessing they will do a lot of work on trying to stop him because of how important he is, it could all be for nothing if he doesn't make it or they may not do enough because he's a doubt.

Add to that the fact that they've got a game on Thursday to prepare for aswell
