Starting XI for the derby

If I were Moyes (changed it from the formation in the other thread) and had Gibson AND Fellaini id play:

Howard

Hibbert - Jagielka - Distin - Baines

Heitinga

Coleman - Fellaini - Osman - Mirallas

Jelavic

Suarez isn't the type of player to hang around in the centre, and whilst I love Coleman at RB I wouldnt trust him to defend against such a tricky player.

I've put Heitinga in there because I would want a defensive mid. If Gibson is fit then thats great, but he has been out for a while now and needs to be eased back in...and I just don't want to put Neville in there. IMO Heitinga adds more to the defence and attack - and everyone seems to have forgotten his fantastic season last season thanks to one or two bad matches this season.

Osman and Fellaini are obvious, still not too sure on Naismith, but i'd prefer to bring Naismith on as a sub later in the game (probably around 89 minutes). Mirallas on the left could be interesting, i'd like to see him up front in a 4-4-2 but needs must, there really isnt anyone else, and Mirallas against Johnson at the back would be good, he should tear him to shreds. The only problem I think is that Mirallas is abit selfish with the ball, so we may not see as much of Baines as we are used to.

And Jelavic upfront, not exactly a difficult decision.

I like this, but it would have to look a little more like this:

...............howard
hibbert jagielka distin baines
..........osman....heitinga
coleman ...................mirallas
................fellaini
....................Jelavic

heitinga is not a good midfielder at all, but we need him there to disrupt their buildup play / make gerrard's life miserable. Moyes wouldn't play him as a sole defensive midfielder, so he'll play a sort of stopper role, and osman will play defensive midfield next to him to help get play started.

Fellaini, if fit, will play where he's played all season, right behind jelavic.

Theres a chance it could be neville at right back. Doesnt look like Hibbo will be fit, Coleman is far too much of a risk to put at RB against them.

If so and theres no Gibbo:

Howard
Neville Jagielka Distin Baines
Osman-- Fellaini
Anichebe---------Mirallas
Naismith
Jelavic

That is the starting 11 with me doubting moyes; I dont actually think he can possibly start vic on the right again. The other option would be to play naismith right, mirallas behind the striker and Gueye on the left.

Either way, we are going to loose this game.

If all are healthy:

Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines
Naismith Gibson Osman Mirallas
Fellaini
Jelavic

if not, I'll go 4-4-2:

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Distin Baines
Naismith Neville Osman Mirallas
Anichebe Jelavic

I guess this is what we will see:

Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines
Osman Gibson Neville Mirallas
Fellaini
Jelavic

Change Mirallas for Pienaar and we have the ManU killers.

Guys, we all know what the outcome will be! The ****e will win, hate to say it but we get scared everytime we play them!

I'd start heitinga and just tell him to clatter Sterling so he ****s himself.
However boys, I've been to Two derbys, 3-0 win and the 1-1 draw at Anfield.
I'd be happy with a draw.

At least some news on the injury front, Hibbert played for the U-21's last night along with Hitzlsperger, surely that's good news for us.

Sure is. I don't want to see Neville playing but he will :(

I have been disappointed with Naismith I was excited when I heard we bought him because he I thought might be a bit feisty and suit these type of games but hasn't got any talent.

With Gibson, Fellaini being doubtful and Pienaar suspended I haven't got a clue what the side should be.

I don't want to see us play a safe game. With them being a bit wobbly in midfield I would like for us to go for it and just keep attacking them.

Also if you watch the U-21's highlights you'll see Fellaini watching the game, so he's not in Belgium anymore. Good news maybe?
I don't have a bloody clue.

I hope so.... Like you I have got a clue.

This is going to be such a hard game. I think if we were at full strength we could win.

Now I am not sure - very nervous, in fact more so than previous ones except for the cup games. For once we should go in as favourites because of league position etc. Which makes things worse.
