If I were Moyes (changed it from the formation in the other thread) and had Gibson AND Fellaini id play:
HowardSuarez isn't the type of player to hang around in the centre, and whilst I love Coleman at RB I wouldnt trust him to defend against such a tricky player.
Hibbert - Jagielka - Distin - Baines
Heitinga
Coleman - Fellaini - Osman - Mirallas
Jelavic
I've put Heitinga in there because I would want a defensive mid. If Gibson is fit then thats great, but he has been out for a while now and needs to be eased back in...and I just don't want to put Neville in there. IMO Heitinga adds more to the defence and attack - and everyone seems to have forgotten his fantastic season last season thanks to one or two bad matches this season.
Osman and Fellaini are obvious, still not too sure on Naismith, but i'd prefer to bring Naismith on as a sub later in the game (probably around 89 minutes). Mirallas on the left could be interesting, i'd like to see him up front in a 4-4-2 but needs must, there really isnt anyone else, and Mirallas against Johnson at the back would be good, he should tear him to shreds. The only problem I think is that Mirallas is abit selfish with the ball, so we may not see as much of Baines as we are used to.
And Jelavic upfront, not exactly a difficult decision.
I like this, but it would have to look a little more like this:
...............howard
hibbert jagielka distin baines
..........osman....heitinga
coleman ...................mirallas
................fellaini
....................Jelavic
heitinga is not a good midfielder at all, but we need him there to disrupt their buildup play / make gerrard's life miserable. Moyes wouldn't play him as a sole defensive midfielder, so he'll play a sort of stopper role, and osman will play defensive midfield next to him to help get play started.
Fellaini, if fit, will play where he's played all season, right behind jelavic.
