Squad mentality and personality

Player Valuation: £10m
One thing I remember about Moyes and Martinez was that they not only bought players based on their ability, but also they had to have the right mentality. Moyes infamously refused to sign Bellamy after meeting him even though we were crying out for a player like him.

So many players have completely the wrong mentality. Think Joe Parkinson, the dogs of war, think Tim Cahill, think Lee Carsley, think Duncan Ferguson....

What we have now is overpaid, spinless rats. Chatting to a blue this morning, he said imagine our team when they were at school:

Michael Keane - that lad from school who cried when the teacher shouted at him!

DCL - the Vice-President of the school Litter Patrol voluntary group

Tom Davies - smoked weed on his skateboard behind the bike shed

Schneiderlin - the school grass

Bernard - pick-pocket

Name a player in our squad you could back to win a 50-50????

That's why we need a good manager. The first thing they'll do is get a rock hard Centre Back and Centre Midfielder and a striker with a bit of guile.

I was proud of the majority of them last night, they kept at and fought - most of them. The Gap, the result? We just had limited quality, they are very good team and had quality everywhere and on the bench.

Were we beaten for want or quality, quality in my opinion, but our heads never dropped and im proud of that as minimum.

When I was bored I thought about what I would do if I became Everton manager

These were who I would keep for different reasons, in terms of age, ability and also in some cases maybe too soon to judge

Pickford, Digne, Mina, Holgate, Coleman, Iwobi, Bernard, Rich, Delph, Gomes, Kean

That would mean I would be prepared to lose
Keane, Davies, Gylfi, Morgan, DCL, Tosun and Walcott. Sidibe isn't our player and I would let Baines go

On that basis we need 7 or 8 new signings, showing we are miles away despite spending a load!!

Snowflakes the lot of them, No backbone, No fight, No passion
Not too sure Moshiri is in the mood to spunk another £120+M just at the minute.
Keep our powder dry in Jan unless we hire a top class replacement.
I wouldnt let the Interim guy have any money. His job is purely kick arse and crack the whip to stop leaking goals and get us up the table.
Even the current shower of shight should, properly orginised, be able to do that...hopefully.
If it takes 20 odd games of 451 / KITAP1 so be it.

Good comments here to be honest and some clarity in light of the theatrics going in on the field, we're a joke. It's obvious, beyond the pseudo-Georgie ® (CC @chicoazul ) fan core we/have developed, its good to see we acknowledge the issues.
