As it happens I don't have any issue with Spurs doing what they've done.Yes it's a bit classless to appeal the decision, but clubs do whats right for them. My frustration really is with the FA/PL caving in and my own club for me not really doing enough to stand up for our own players.

There is a lot of frustration more broadly here, partly at the start to the season, partly due to us spending significant amounts of money to stand still but also because of VAR which in each of the last 3 weeks has been shambolic. I think Son has proven to be a very useful totem for a lot of that anger to be taken out upon.

There are other worthwhile points here other than just Son and his conduct as well. Martin Atkinson's failure to book him for a potential dive for the penalty is probably the difference between Son going in for that tackle or not. Yet we live in a world where referees are put under no scrutiny and any attempt to do so is deemed as contravening the "respect" campaign. I can go either way on whether it is a booking or not it's a booking, but it's more of a booking than Zaha's last week.

From top to bottom the PL is an utter shambles. People often go "oh rugby players don't argue with refs". Have they seen the quality of referees in Rugby compared to football? There's no way any group of sportsman would accept the refereeing display we saw from Atkinson at the weekend.

To be honest i have been trying to wean myself off of it for several seasons. But the lure of the new stadium was too much to resist.
Now that novelty has worn off it might be easier.

I HATE VAR, the refereeing is wildly inconsistent, i detest 95% of the social media aspect and most of what modern football entails.

I have nothing in common with most of the people i see at games. Although i still enjoy the whole day out and meeting up with mates some of whom i known for the best part of 40-50 years.

It is like a drug. People i know who have jacked in their STs over the years say it is actually quite liberating after the initial shock.

Yes I can empathise with all of that. I think having Moyes and his team for a time masked some of it for me, as even though they were quite limited as a group of players they generally always gave their all.

I sometimes go and watch local football now. At team I used to play for (well more their youth sides and reserve though mad the odd first team appearance) are doing really well now, come on leaps and bounds since I left haha!). They've got to semi pro now and show no sign of slowing up. I enjoy watching them. Oddly I enjoy watching some of the womens games too. The standards much lower but as you say there's less of the prima donas now.

I'd love for the bottom to fall out of football. For it to go back to being about watching your local team in an affordable way. It's an awful game now, but we will always have the love of the teams.

As for Var it is atrocious. It's been brought in to satisfy TV audiences over match going fans. I don't think it's unreasonable to say it is endangering people now though.

As I have said above, I really hope the European Super league comes off, and the handful of teams who think they are the sole reason for the success of football in this country can move off to play in another league, and we can go back to having football much like toehold First division used to be. I wouldn't miss Liverpool one bit.Did winning a title, or a cup mean any less pre 92? Not for me.

You sound like me. I also go and watch local football which is a great day out and an ST is around £200. £1k less than mine. I also catch the odd ladies game. As you say, the quality is not there but i have seen harder tackles and less play acting than at any mans game.

The CL is actually an (expensive) chore until you get passt the group stage. You usually know before a ball has been kicked which 2 teams will progress.

The only chance we have of winning a trophy is the FA or League cups but we jack those in to concentrate on the money...PL & CL.

Thats it. I know the counter argument is it's a "better product" now, but in all honesty if you are honestly the sort of person who's concerned about the quality of the product you are probably not a true football fan to me. I'd rather watch Everton win a terrible premier league, than see us finish half way up a great one.

I say 12 months tops before he's caught doing similar again. Doubt it'll end as catastrophically, but I doubt he has learned from this as he didn't learn from the prior instances. He's talented, but he's also a hot headed, diving, dangerous, cheat of a player. And Spurs handling of this has been grade A horse crap as well.
