Mate just for the record you're probably feeling a bit shoite about this posting so regularly on here so I'd just like to say I've always thought on you as an honest and decent poster who can take a bit of stick and enjoys a laugh, I did think about you in the midst of all this and glad you are carrying on as normal ;)

Cheers. Appreciated.

Good forum this and i've met a few southern toffees over the years and they have all been sound.

Sons red card rescinded just suggests London bias.

If itdve been a northern traditional hard man (and I know that's a rarity these days) then I doubt the same response from the media or FA.

Son is also a superstar in Korea and the premier league want to market there more.

How many times does he have to get sent off for retaliations before that is what he is? Because this is 3.

But Dele said he's the nicest man on the face of the earth after the game. Between Arsenal and Tottenham, they gotta have the most tool footballers per square kilometer/mile in the world in North London. Nothing but a bunch of douche bags on those two teams.

Not really sure what the question is. Obviously he shouldn't react to provocation and needs to control his reactions more.

The second sending off was for a push so not particularly hardcore violence. I cant remember the first offence off the top of my head.

If the ref had been doing his job properly on Sunday Son would never have been sent off nor Gomes’s season ended and career threatened.

Because the bugger should have been yellow carded for his dive when Mina tackled him ergo he would not have risked a second yellow with the snide challenge which did the damage,

Correct.

Isn't modern football magical?

Horrific injury and wouldn't wish it on any player.

On the whole Son is not what you would think of as a dirty player but any tackle from behind is out of order and potentially dangerous.

That's a very decent response and I'm sure will be well received here mate.

As it happens I don't have any issue with Spurs doing what they've done.Yes it's a bit classless to appeal the decision, but clubs do whats right for them. My frustration really is with the FA/PL caving in and my own club for me not really doing enough to stand up for our own players.

There is a lot of frustration more broadly here, partly at the start to the season, partly due to us spending significant amounts of money to stand still but also because of VAR which in each of the last 3 weeks has been shambolic. I think Son has proven to be a very useful totem for a lot of that anger to be taken out upon.

There are other worthwhile points here other than just Son and his conduct as well. Martin Atkinson's failure to book him for a potential dive for the penalty is probably the difference between Son going in for that tackle or not. Yet we live in a world where referees are put under no scrutiny and any attempt to do so is deemed as contravening the "respect" campaign. I can go either way on whether it is a booking or not it's a booking, but it's more of a booking than Zaha's last week.

From top to bottom the PL is an utter shambles. People often go "oh rugby players don't argue with refs". Have they seen the quality of referees in Rugby compared to football? There's no way any group of sportsman would accept the refereeing display we saw from Atkinson at the weekend.
