Distin is a complete liability and I lay all the blame at his feet for the defeat.
He messed up hugely in the build up to the first goal; i think he needlessly passes it long (shock) rather than pass it out wide.
His inability to pass the ball or make a decision is the reason we gave them the 1st goal and thus the momentum.
He slows down attacks as he cant make his mind up whom to pass to; he gives the ball away needlessly or lumps it long and we lose posession. He has also lost any ability to defend. He is the only one in my opinion from Moyes team who hasnt improved under Bobby.

He needs removing from the team asap.

So who would you bring in, mate? Hibbo at CB? Alcaraz with his arm in a cast? Nothing can be done about it now, though to be honest I don't agree that Distin is that bad. Definitely going downhill but I wouldn't single anyone out from this game -- it was a team-wide failure.

Howard rolls it out to Jagielka, who passes it to Baines out wide, who turns back and plays it to Distin's feet. Distin takes a touch, plays the simple pass to Jagielka, who plays it to Barry and gets the return ball and sprays it out wide to Coleman. He takes a look up, but no movement, so he plays it back to Jagielka, who plays the one-two with Distin before pumping it long. Throw in to the opposition and we're still losing, but this time there's even less time remaining to get ourselves back into the game.
that's a pretty accurate commentary

To be fair when a RS-loving twerp like him says that you have to think he's not far off.

Lloris is 10000x better than Howard, but other than that...? Very strange considering the amount of dosh Spurs have spent.

Eriksen is better than Barkley, by far (at the moment). But who else is there? That kind of makes the defeat all the more annoying. We should have beaten you but Howard's failure and then a team-wide lack of fight and unity cost us. Meanwhile, to be fair, your lot were well up for it. I didn't think they'd be able to press so aggressively all game but you kept it up and got a deserved 3 points, even with that penalty shout (should have been a pen like, but we didn't deserve anything from the game).

Personally i think it is a positive for us. If every player on the opposing team is better than you, & you still win the game, it shows you have team Spirit.
Vertonghen (when he wants to) can be a match for one of your CHs i think. Lloris, Vertongen & Eriksen are our best players.

It should have been a pen for you - not intentional but a pen nevertheless.

Get Moyes back in ffs, and not as manager.

Or Stubbs.

I've always been a fan of Distin, but have to agree with this.

He was awful yesterday and was culpable, along with Howard - for both their goals.

We now desperately need a replacement

Not a huge fan of that old school style defender, but I think the above is a pretty fair statement, we all now know Stones should be first choice but he is some way off fitness, galloway and browning are not there yet and we don't actually know all that much about them

Distin has been like this all season and his passing has never been up to scratch. His defending bailed him out big time last year which was fair enough.
I would honestely put in Browning as I dont believe he would do worse than Distin; I dont care about age or experience; I care about form and ability and consequently Distin isnt displaying either; therefore I would throw in Browning as it can onlybe better in my opinion.

Vertonghen for sure yeah; forgot about him. Needs to become more consistent though injuries won't have helped that, but he'd be incredible in our team as he's so good playing it out from the back. Or rather, just running out from the back....

Agreed Erikson would walk into our midfield, like he did all afternoon yesterday
