Yeah… and so were we. That’s why we need an old hand on the till until we get some infrastructure in place. That’s what Palace did as well.
We don't need a second rate manager who's past his best and just had a shocker of a season. We need someone to take us up a level and there's managers who are available who can do that. There's no excuse for sitting on our hands and carrying on with deadly dull Dave

You make it sound so easy. But in reality it’s rather difficult, and massive sums of money are involved.

By the way. You can't just be a good coach in football. You've got to be a good man manager, a good tactician, a good motivator, loved and feared in the same breath by the players.
Agree, mate. And to add to that, you have to be cold and clinical, only winning-minded. You can’t be their friends. When you do, you go soft and see friends versus chess pieces. It’s a business and the manager is hired to deliver wins and success. You can’t have favourites. You have to be the kind of manager who has Haaland or Messi on the team and will bench them without hesitation if their performance is subpar or perhaps the wrong player against a particular side. Be a manager. Kind of like be a parent and not a friend. You can still be respected and adored but also a little feared.

Starting point is consistently appointing managers who have over performed at every club they've managed and preferably had a track record of winning trophies. We've not done that for past thirty years. Perhaps we should try it?!

That's the crux of the problem,we are all aware of Moyes failings but this is a very average squad. And to do anything more than paper over the cracks is going to cost north of 200 million and TFG aren't going to be able to spend anywhere near that, even if they wanted to,which I doubt.

We offered nothing today apart from one shot by Tyrique George at end. After Chelsea we’ve fallen apart. The break didn’t do us any favours but Top 6 was within reach so 13th is a massive disappointment. Big game players have lost form at wrong time and a stubborn manager who wouldn’t rotate tired players hasn’t helped. Need to play people in their positions. Team first. Why Beto didn’t start today only our manager knows. We offered nothing up top and we knew that before we kicked a ball.

Last 10 years, managers who have won titles/trophies in England:

Arteta - staying
Slot - high variance...could be sacked early next season or they could challenge at top of table
Pep - retiring?
Klopp - nope
Conte - at Napoli, wouldn't come here
Ranieri - out of coaching
Glasner - tough to say...might listen to an offer from the Friedkins?
ten Hag - supposed to work for Twente next season...probably not a better manager than Moyes!
Rodgers - nope
Howe - could be fired in the summer or early next season, but either way, not leaving for a new club

Hard to find proven managers willing to change their jobs for any other club, let alone one that would come manage Everton.

To think both clubs who were in the relegation battle today West Ham and spurs took 4 and 6 points off us this season. That alone should raise alarm bells. It has cost us European football this season, but more worryingly gives us an indication of what could happen next season, if there isn’t significant investment in the squad and a managerial change.

I don't think so.

Who said anything about just England? Both Glasner and Iraola fit that profile before they came to premier league. Hoeness, Knutson, and Haise would also fit it.

We also drew with Burnley and Wolves this season
