Y'know what puzzles me a bit is why, after all the amazing images Hubble has sent back, we haven't put up something even better. Hubble blew the whole space thing wide open...after those first few crazy images came back I'd have been making something 100X better. It's been 20+ years now FFS.

As it pertains to light and distance traveled...stuff we see now could be long gone. Half the universe could now be non-existant, for all we know. Space is a trip, in many ways.

And then surely for that very reason its unlikely that any other life in the universe would find us, or us them. Its possible that 10 billion years ago a race looked at earth and it was an uninhabitable wasteland. Or even looking at us right now, but because of your aforementioned point it wouldn't be the same time as us.

I don't begrudge anyone religion, as long as it makes them a better person...it's just too convenient for me. I took everything apart when I was a kid to see how it worked, it's just in my nature.

My idea has nothing to do with religion as we know it, its completly seperate. Now, god and religion are intertwined as one, however my idea is that whilst something (a god type being) created the universe as we know it thats simply all, this god created the big bang and everything after that happened as we've learnt it using evolution.

What happened before the big bang? We don't know so there's just as much chance of it being "god made the big bang" as there is any other theory. To be honest i'd never really looked into it before but just found these 2 links which kinda explain in a way what i mean.

Everything is possible...our whole universe could be the equivalent size of molecule in a whole other scale we're unaware of.
