Six Nations 2026

The nations championship

Apart from the money, what’s the point? Just have the usual traditional test matches.
Think it is purely the money. Football brought in the Nations League, partly for money but also because friendlies became largely pointless with multiple players dropping out of squads with “injuries” and fans just not caring about them.

In rugby the test matches were always taken seriously, with strong squads and interesting matches. It doesn’t need to be made into a competition. But I guess the money in rugby is nowhere near football so any way to make more is always going to be pursued. It’s definitely not being done because the “product” (bleurgh) was lacking.

Well, at least we won't have Dickson ref us again this 6N. France bar far the better team, but my god Dupont should've see yellow for the deliberate knock-on. He let France away with absolute murder at the breakdown.

It didn't change the result but my god he hates Ireland.
He's has the Wales game and Ian 'Clattenberg' Tempest is involved with the Scottish and Italian games.

Wales will be lucky to win any games
In terms of the squads Wales are certainly the weakest, there are players who are just not international standard , particularly in the back row, and the lack of physicality is just not viable to consistently win games these days. The young players coming through are a couple of years away at the moment, and when you look at the caps per player the number of players with less than 25 caps says it all.

So it’s all about progression for Wales. The hardest games are the first two , if they can build on that and the talented backs start to click in combinations then home games against Scotland and Italy offer a glimmer of hope.

An important game for Scotland, it’s time for them to kick on a bit or their “ Golden generation “ will disappear without any significant achievements.

I’m looking forward to the clash of the centres , Menoncello and Brex are probably the most underrated centre pairing in World rugby and capable of tearing any team apart on their day . And against them the very experienced Lions pair Tuipulotu and Huw Jones. It would be nice to see a game less dominated by the forwards and at least they’re back to 5:3 splits on the bench
