He is under contract with the MLS! That why he will be going back.
Ironically, some suggest reasons exist to believe future operations of some European leagues and teams may leverage a hybrid of current European team-player contracts and amended MLS-player contracts. Such thoughts may be opinions, yet look no further than Portsmouth and other financially-challenged Premiership clubs for reasons supporting potential changes in future operations.Having seen what conditions (in terms of contracts, registrations etc) the players operate under - which are between ten and forty years behind the times in Europe - I can well see both why the players should strike, and why owners dont really give a [Poor language removed] either way.
I've listened to quite a few of his interviews during his spell here and they are all very positive, he loves it here. He likes the club, the fans and he always talks about how the teams suits his style of play. The tempo we play at, the similarities between him and our current midfielders (small, intelligent, hardworking players) and the workrate of the club as a whole.
I think given a chance he'd love to stay here, I think he's sees this as a match made in heaven. But he also comes across as a loyal guy, he doesn't want to let MLS and the Galaxy fans down, he doesn't want to 'do a Beckham' so to speak.
So it'll be interesting really, I'd love to see him stay here for a longer period (this season) because he gives us something we don't have and that's pace. Whether he's the long term answer I'm not sure, I'd still like to see more of him.
"Wow. I didn't think anything could top the atmosphere from last week's win against Chelsea but I don't think I've ever been in a louder stadium than yesterday. Thank you all for another incredible memory...I am so proud to play for this club. Have a great Sunday!"
From his Facebook.
He would never be the long-term solution since he is already 27, but he would be good enough for another 3 may be next 4 season, as far as I am concern I want him to stay with us.
I don't care what sort of comment we are getting from Moyes at the moment, BK & Moyes I hope you are listening we need to sign Donovan permanently.
Nope! I want him back at my club.I don't think he needs to worry about letting them down. I'm sure about 80% of LA fans want him to stay and be successful here.
Interesting to see him down the left handside, something I've wanted to see, I thought it improved his all round involvement in the game. It gave him a bit more freedom and more options. On the right he has a tendency to run away from the play and try and run into space, this can be great, but it can also leave Neville with little options but to chip the ball forward, at times.
As a right footer on the left handside he's got to come short more, he can drift inside and he can also hit the byline. It also got him closer to players like Baines, Pienaar and Osman, players who are on his wavelength.
There was a lot of interchanging and it gave him more freedom.
Pienaar was everywhere yesterday too - left, right, up front. Was just being a horror all game![]()
That's how he plays for South Africa.
Agreed, it was very fluid yesterday.

I'd like to see him stay, but I'm about 95% everton fan and 5% MLS. Most LA fans and MLS fans are not that way, so many of them actually would like to see him come back. I have little hope of him staying at the moment, but I fully see him coming back next year as a full transfer (assuming LA/MLS doesn't try to hold him for ransom after seeing his value rise).
It is obvious he really likes it as a blue, so I hope that his wishes will keep that from happen. I think what he wants right now would be 3 years as a blue, then go back to MLS for 2-4 more years, then retire. Fulfilling his personal ambitions as well as getting to play the role of the good boy coming home too.
Will be an interesting saga to watch. Part of me wonders if that may be why he signed a 4 year contract before coming out on loan. Could he stay "on loan" for 2 or 3 years while LA retain his rights? (long term loans, ala manny and jo?)
