Sir Landon Of Donovan

If Coyle doesn't sign up Stuart Holden at Bolton, he could be worth a look.
Younger than Donovan and not as polished, but a really good winger with an excellent ability to cross the ball...

If the new contract stipulations you guys say is true, then it would be much more feasible to get Donovan in.
Without those, it would have been hard for Donovan to move, especially with how much he is needed in the MLS as a whole.

I don't disagree with that at all. I think if Donovan was three or four years younger, then he'd absolutely command a higher transfer fee.

But I think he's got MLS over the coals on this one (not that it's some sort of issue) and that if he wants to leave, they'll work something out.

I suppose it all boils down to Donovan. Does he want to come to the prem and of course to Everton. Hate to see him go to another club when we have given him the chance to show what he can do.

This player impresses me,with his intelligent use of the ball, finding the space to receive a pass ,his pace along with his vision and awareness.
All this after only 2 games, get him signed up moysie.
A.S.A.P.
I agree. He also seems to posess the type of balance that the likes of Giggs and Luis Figo have shown over the last 15 years or so (Best and Cruyff even more so). Allowing players to change direction or step on the brake at high speed. Obviously helps if it's combined with close control, which Landon undoubtedly has

I'm not sure his teammates trust him yet. They play the ball opposite of him a majority of the time. Today I saw a few times where Donovan was looking for the ball in the corner from Neville and didn't get a ball. Instead Neville volleyed ball after ball into the box with no one around.

As soon as Donovan went out it seemed the ball went to the right side a lot more. It could be just a coincidence or it could be just one of those types of matches.

He just wasnt used enough which is piss poor really.

Should've used both wings as they are balanced now. Instead we ran out of ideas.

That's more because Neville is a hoofball merchant than any other compelling reason I can think of.

I actually let out a "**** off Neville" when he done that.

I'm suitably ashamed i sunk that low.

No need to be ashamed, I was close to that as well, he has wasted so many crosses it got to a point I had to say "Oh, [Poor language removed] is Neville with the ball again".

Then it got to a point I had to say "For **** Sake take off Neville and bring on Coleman!"

He needs to come to the ball more, when Neville is bringing the ball forward Donovan has a tendency to make a darting run in behind like a striker. This is great at times, but he's got to vary his play a bit more as a wide player. Sometimes you've got to come short and make yourself available, especially at home where teams sit back and cut off space.

He'll probably get far more joy away from home or in games against sides who attack us. He's got it in him though, I think it's just a case of adapting. It'd be interesting to see him on the left at times.
