Sir Landon Of Donovan

He said he signed his ST.

And he cant wait till he gets another text saying, ITS ON, meaning his source telling himm that DonnyFod is coming back.

He then goes on to wish a speedy return for LandonFod.

Ah right. He over-punctuated and the full stop made me read it wrong, and also think he had texted the double-don direct.

Is the answer 1878 ?

the biggest compliment that I can give the man is that he is the exact opposite of Luis Suarez. A classy, professional gentleman on and off the pitch, and a complete athlete. Bloody love him.

I think it's because he's a good guy, and feels like he owes it to the Galaxy to do what he said he would do. I love him.

Fair point. Your post reminded me of what he said about Everton being the only club in the PL he'd consider, even though his Agent wouldn't appreciate him saying that. (Or words to that effect)

Landon's new signature on twitter with two recent introductions:
US National Team, LA Galaxy and Everton soccer player. Proud American, Angelino, & Evertonian.

What I don't get is this....

Donovan has spent the time since first with us (and before) as the poster boy of the MLS and the National Team, and both have used him to promote their interests. Which is why they wish to retain him over the puddle and run down his contract. Now if he has 2 years left, going by other transfers he could be off in 12 months should they wish to get a fee or 2 years if they view his marketing in the interim to outweigh any fee.

In 2 years time he may not be able to play the same sort of role in a League such as the prem due to the pace, if that is the case (before anyone jumps up and down, we have all seen players lose that extra yard over the years and often from a fairly minor knock) then he wouldn't be coming here or anywhere else.

So how about this.... Landon sits down with them and says that he wishes to be LOANED to Everton for a couple of years to take the chance while it is still there for him, then after that period he will return to Califor-neye-ayy and The Galaxy, as I doubt that the pace of the MLS would have overtaken the Prem, he would still be a lot of use to both L.A. and the MLS at that point. I suppose some conditions could be put in there such as if qual for c.l. then it's only fair he should be given the option of giving that a go (especially if he's been instrumental in the qualification in the 1st place).

This would be the MLS saying to their fav. son, "go ahead Lad, do your best." If only on loan then L.A. and MLS would get a hell of a lot of publicity via the Prem (possibly more than they can generate outside the U.S.) and there is a very good chance that they would be getting back a player with a much higher profile on the World Stage, especially if he has had a big 2014 WC, and given he's a bit of a homie they would probably be getting him far beyond his playing days.
However, if he keeps flitting over here like we are his 'Mistress' then all will seem far rosier here for him on this side of the Fjordd, then if he runs down his contract and comes over it could be us that get him 'beyond his playing days.'

It's all down to Landon himself though really, if he really really wants to come then he can make it happen (whatever his contract at the moment says), enlisting someone like Beckham in his corner couldn't do much harm either.

As was once sang "you gotta say what you say don't let anybody get in your way."

Moyes should offer some of our kids out on loan to Galaxy as part of a deal to sign Landon. Simple as. Instead of sitting on their asses off-season, they'd get to play for a great US Club and manager, under pressure. Avery doable deal.
