My take for whats it worth:

There have been some interesting statements of late. LD is a media savvy guy. He does not just pipe off to media outlets for no reason. He thinks about it first. AND, he is not going to jerk around the Everton fans for no reason. No, there is a reason that is he making the statements that he has recently made.

I recently posted that I believe that he, if he leaves the Galaxy, he will only go back to Everton. He has nothing to prove in the US, and his fans, nearly all want to see a return to the EPL, to Everton. The lastest MLS games, the loses, only reinforce my thought that he is sending a clear signal to Everton that he is more than a little intested in a return. He knows that he is better than the MLS caliber of player, can play in the EPL, and now is the time. The sooner the better, THAT, is why all of a sudden the LD outbursts. I seriously doubt that January is the time. Why talk about a transfer now? Why have your own team, the Galaxy thinking that he may be leaving? That is not the way that he does things. My bet is that if a transfer goes through it is sooner.

THIS. I agree with you Thebes. LCAB, I'm new to this site, so I don't know about your connections, but Landon has NO reason to say what he's saying right now except to get transfer $$. Imagine how the Galaxy must feel. The dude just said that he wants to go somewhere else. He is not making a secret of where he wants to go. And why in the world would you do that unless there was some sort of offer in the works??? Why would Everton's official site put it up (it's just cruel to the fans)?

I don't know if he's going to end up at Everton (the money situation), but Landon is pushing for a move. That's got to be based on some sort of reality cause why [Poor language removed] MLS otherwise?

On big soccer there's also a thread in the Yanks Abroad section on this topic. There are some now speculating even more about Aston Villa/Fulham due to Everton's lack of funds. Someone also brought up the Nike topic - Nike helping fund a transfer to a Nike sponsored team (Aston Villa most likely). Again, if we're thinking the business end of things, that would be a COUP for them. Instant shirt sales. They'd be going from ZERO (Adidas does Landon's galaxy jersey) to many (excepting his USMNT jersey).

Another person with "connections" (whatever those are) wrote that they know someone who knows an LA Galaxy player who said that they fear Landon's last home game is this Sunday. I know, one step removed, six degrees of Kevin Bacon, but all of this is starting to pile up on an already very crowded LA freeway.

Business people and agents aren't stupid. There is something going on here, I just can't figure out who (i.e. Everton or not). Regardless, watch the Chicago Fire match carefully. If Landon is gazing around wistfully - hmmm.....

Perhaps we should have a tombola to raise the funds? I've got a DAB radio, a frozen Tesco canneloni and a vinyl copy of the deathless Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep. Any other prizes?
 
Sadly if he does come to us in the winter he might not be effective until August. He's been looking tired as hell on the pitch.

Okey dokey. Will take your word for it for Everton (and hope for departures or something to change in the month we have left). I'm just looking for him to get out of MLS and go to somewhere else in the EPL where I can watch him (not Serie A). I just think he has been making all his statements for a reason.

By the way, I'm a lady. :)
