You are never more than two games from a crisis at Everton and those two games just happened to be Bournemouth and Sheffield United.
If you can't get your players to believe when they could have gone second/third against mediocre opposition then simply you are not up to the job. I had my doubts last season but this season has tipped the scales and they have somersaulted sideways off the unit to the floor of despair. I don't want him sacked this season, hopefully he can go on a little purple patch again that will at least set us on track for next season but he should not be manager when that starts. We can't be fooled into thinking the corner has turned again with him.
We need to find a proven manager who stays in a job for more than 5 seconds to eliminate at least those niggling doubts. As once the fans turn it is bloody hard to get back.
That more or less matches my sentiment, I'd rather we weren't in a position where a sacking becomes unavoidable and that things stabilise over the next few weeks and months. A decision under less than ideal circumstances invaribly leads to a bad outcome, rather than being done with the benefit of time and consideration.
I do think though that the groundswell has shifted against him and this actually tends to be noticed. He is now in a battle to save his job.
It all depends though on a manager with a significantly better CV being available, as there isn't much point sacking him and pinning the tail on another metaphorical donkey. The only way they would make a change other than that would be in a panic reaction to potential relegation. And it's only October.
