"Doubters" of Kenwyne Jones are not basing their opinions on FM mate. They're people who actually watch football and notice a ****e player when they see one. We all love Martinez and it is clear he's taking us in the right direction, however that doesn't mean he is infallible. He is human and can make mistakes just like the rest of us. Kenwyne Jones would NOT be a success at Everton, he hasn't been a success anywhere else he's played, in the Premier League at least. I trust Bobby to not sign Jones. He must realise he is ****. If he signs him, there is no part of me that thinks that will turn out to be a good signing
If you look at Martinez style and tactics, he sets up his teams to score from other areas of the pitch not from just the lead from an attacker.... look at where our goals are coming from this season, no coinicdence? full backs pushing higher into goals scoring positions, midfielders arriving and scoring from just outside the box, goals from shots created by clever movement of the high line,
I too would be surprised if KJ is Goodison bound but the man has qualities in his locker... qualities that once earned him the price tag of 10 million and chased by managers that are regarded as top manager in the game. Playing for Sunderland and Stoke have probably affected him like
Moyes tactics affected Jela
I think that the style of striker Martinez wants will have specific qualities and if Martinez is looking at this player he must see something in him that fits his game plan. It might not necessarily be he can score 20 plus goals a season... who knows but I feel to right any player off before given a chance is unfair... not exactly pissing up 10 million to buy him are we??
Like McGeady, no brainer .... if it does not work out move him on for a fee .... Lucas Neil comes to mind, profit on a free transfer
